Hmm...
PS4 -
Well, the main point... It will be affordable.
It should launch simultaneously worldwide. And they should also try get it out earlier than at least one of the other 2 consoles. They don't want to be last onto the market, and they want to get early dev kits out to every possible developer to ensure the PS4 is getting the best versions of games... Not shoddy ports.
Sony continue to expand into new, growing markets.
They could still use Blu-ray in the PS4. It will be cheap and affordable by the time PS4 releases, and will still be growing with Blu-ray movies too.
Advertise the fact that you offer online play, along with a bunch of other great online features that the competition (currently) don't, for free. And make sure they know it's on a higher level (dedicated servers)
The PS3 is powerful enough now that a huge graphical update, ala PS2 to PS3, wont be needed.
It will have a number of different controller options. DualShock, PS Move, PS Eye, Etc.
Sony will need to get the big games out as early as possible. Not wait 3/4 Years into the consoles cycle to release your biggest game. I'm talking to you, Polyphony Digital.
Sony will also need to keep, and use, big franchises built in this generation. Uncharted, LittleBigPlanet, Etc.
They will need to do a MS, and get a bunch of exclusive stuff. Be it timed exclusivity, DLC, "console exclusive"... They need it!
Japan, and Europe have both shown that the PlayStation brand is still alive and well. They just need something big that reaches out to the American audience so that they can keep up in that country. They need a big new IP on the levels of Halo or Mario.
Oh, and they need to stop the other consoles "stealing" the exclusives. That's a certainty. With the PS4 pushing for a more profitable SCE, we could see Sony splash out on 3rd parties like the PS1/PS2 eras.
It will massively push 3D.
PSP2 -
