Its not about who is better. I'm just curious to know wich one made more success in US in the beginning of their career. I read Britney was responsible for 2% of the entire US economy in the year she exploded.

Britney.. her first 2 albums sold 25 and 20 million.. Lady Gaga has sold 15 million albums between the fame and the fame monster..

Britney must be a muti-billionaire.

60m in the bank and worth more than 100m.

britney success, was mainly because she managed to look sexy at 16 year old, and it was her own idea of a school girl baby one more time video.

Britney, though I love them both, Gaga only made $62mil last year and it has was her most successful year,

Think that figure may be a little off though, britney may have been 2% of exports or 2% of a state economy, US economy in total is like 700 trillion per year so 2% would make her bigger than the whole music industry over many many years,

also believe it or not, gaga is still known as a 'cult' artist in the popular crowd simply because shes so weird as a person, at least where I live, I am a total club/party girl and Gaga is way too out there for a lot of my friends whereas britney had universal appeal, she just identified with us better, Gaga has too many ideals and is too critical of us image conscious ones

To be fair, when Brittany Spears came on the scene people actually bought albums so that could be a large reason for such a difference. 

Doesn't really make a difference since they're both pretty bad.

Britney is the face and body (and partly the voice) of a product that was artificially constructed.

Lady Gaga is an actual Artist.

i don't like any of the two, but that is how i see it.
