Forums - Sony - Sony Takes Off the Gloves, Unleashes Comparison Chart!

OMG.   Is this for real?  It's so immature.  So many of those points are totally bogus, like the entire secondary controller section.   Should state it's an extra cost for Move. included for Wii and totally unnecessary for 360.   Or Kinect not supporting rechargable batteries.  Thank God it doesn't!  What a pain that would be.

Sony hang your head down in shame.  You're acting like a pre-teen punk and blatantly insulting our intelligence ... again.

LOL very suited for this company aswell....

You gotta admit some of the categories (Buttons, wireless, secondary controller, Rechargeable batteries) are unfair given that Kinect isn't a controller to begin with.

Actually, it works perfect for M$. It does show that it is new tech that doesnt need these things.

I love the fact that Sony spend litlle info on the first one. The all important kick arse one for M$ though. LOL.

yep but MS started this BS and they weren't exactly 'factual either...I'm shocked SOny didn't use the couch, max 2 players, dress code etc for this..in a hurry or waiting to use it later on in a proper ad? most probably

Either way PR battles are FUN!

people are forgetting fast.

official Sony press release, January 2009

Microsoft really should have used the chart I made for them in response.

Lol. You can use any bluetooth headset with the PS3. Even the free ones that come with mobile phones and to buy a blu tooth headset with the equivalent quaility to the Headset you get with the 360 only costs 10 bucks.

The PS3 has a DVD drive and a Blu ray player so if your going to count a PS2 for backwards compatibility on the PS3 then add 150 bucks to the Xbox 360 for a seperate blu ray player.

Add the 20 bucks for Rechargeable batteries and the kit for recharging those batteries for the 360.

HDMI cables can be bought for 20 bucks and the ethernet cable came with my PS3 so I don't know what you mean there. But of course this list is only for what you need to play online and considering the PS3 had built in wifi you didn't need an enthernet cable to play online.

Also since you were just grabbing things to add to the price like kung fu panda and shit. How about we add 50 bucks a year for online play. So if you plan to play Xbox live for the 10 years the consol will be out then thats 500 bucks for Xbox live.

it's an imput device..and yes it is a controller, Microsoft is marketing it as such. can you controll function's of the xbox360? if the answer is yes it's a controller in my opinion it's the same as anyother controller imput device if it's made to control function's of another device.

"

A game controller is a device used with games or entertainment system used to control a playable character or object, or otherwise provide input in a computer game. A controller is typically connected to a game console or computer by means of a wire, cord or nowadays, by means of wireless connection. Controllers which have been classified as games controllers are keyboards, mice, game pads, joysticks, etc. Special purpose devices, such as steering wheels for driving games and light guns for shooting games, are also game controllers. Devices such as mice and keyboards can be emulated with a game pad through the use of programs such as 'JoyToKey'.

The main function of a game controller is to govern the movement/actions of a playable body/object or otherwise influence the events in a video or computer game. The type of controller used in a game depends on the genre of the game being played (i.e. Steering Wheel controllers for driving games, yoke like for flying, etc)."

ROFLOL...this is truly the funniest thing yet put out by Sony...far funier than those Butler ads!

Haha the games resolution part at the bottom is the funniest. PS3 Blu-Ray powered HD support?? What the hell does Blu-Ray have to do with ''powering a games resolution''. They just hade to mention Blu-Ray somewhere.

And they forgot dresscode, i don't think Kinect works while wearing a wedding dress lolz

Just trying to figure out if they are tyring to point out its own limitations or its competitors. This is probably the stupidest comparson graph in the world.

Kinect as seen by PS3 owners ...if you can pick at it   ...post it ... Did I mention the 360 was black and Shinny? Keeping Sigs obscure since 2007, Passed by the Sig police 5July10.

*Raises eyebrow*

Good gravy, not this again. It's bad enough when random internet folks have list wars, and now we got the actual companies going at it. Oh the huge manatee!

I'll be hiding in my special place (pile of Sonic plushies) for a while now. Have fun VGChartz!

Heresy. Oh well...

Hmm... Wii's IR sensor only detects XY motion? Lol XD At least try and do some research before posting nonsense, Sony.
