I don't understand why they are comparing themselves to the wii. I thought the ps3 didnt compete with the wii.

Yeah, they're just playing on the ignorance of the sort of people who love these lists.

The Wiimote's IR camera triangulates Z-position using the distance between the LED clusters at either end of the sensor bar, whereas the PSEye uses the centre of the glowing ball and its radius/diameter.

However, the sensor bar/IR camera solution can detect yaw and roll without even using the gyroscopes. Since a ball is a ball no matter which way you look at it, the Move controller will have to rely on the gyros.

not quite all of it, because there is also a magnetic sensor  in the PS3 move controller that also is useed to determine the exact position in a 3D field of space along with the camera track's but the Magnetic sensor in the Move also send's out it's position in a point direction.

So it's got a compass in it? Nifty.

The misinformation in the chart is still sinister, though.

It's a chart in response to the BS chart ms posted..this is just PR but MS one was marketing...however I expect ads involving couches, more buttons, feed back, no more than 2 players etc to come out in the form of proper ad's from the Sony camp as well

I don't understand why people are getting upset and going into attack mode. Can't we all look at Microsoft and SONY and call them both liars and just have a laugh. I can't believe people are taking this seriously.

A standard DVD cant store a PS3 game with HD resolution, a blu ray is the only thing with enough space, eg metal gear solid 4 apparently used almost the full 50gb capacity afforded with a blu ray. thats why games like FF13 and Mass Effect 2 are on multiple DVDs, they dont have enough capacity to store the entire game.

this is a problem because the 360 dosent actully run HD content, there is an upscaling chip bulit into the console that improves the resolution of the image. the PS3 can output at full 1080p/i resolution because it uses a blu ray drive, not an upscaling chip. i can tell you that i have a 40" HDTV in my lounge and theres a noticable difference between upascaled and true HD - although i dont know about games, there is a very noticable difference - so blu ray and HD go hand in hand really!!

Are you serious?.... Storage has absolutely NOTHING to do with the resolution of a game, only pre-rendered cut scenes(and as you know, MGS4 has a LOT of cutscenes). I'm guessing you have only owned gameconsoles in the past, because if you've ever played a game for PC you would know. When it comes to games all a disc contains is information that tell the device (in the case of resolution the graphics card) what to render. Blu-Ray is however important for full-hd movies, again because this is pre-rendered and takes up a lot of space.

To put it simple. What happens in a movie is fixed, so ll a device has to do is read out the information. In a game the device has to repond to what the player is doing, so by your logic every time the player does something the device would have to write and change the information on the disc.

o'l i agree..lol

except for one thing well both companies are telling the truth, but remember it's the context of their point, not so much as them showing a one sided view which they are doing, it's more about showing a specific scenario.

and How the pricing would or the amount of Tech each offer's or does not offer.

It does not mean they are telling a lie, it just mean's they are only showing it from one view point their's.

This is the second time Sony has done this and it didn't matter last time. This is, once again, Sony trying to say how their's is supperior, but like last time it will fail on the market.

Eitherway this is fun PR stuff, all who are butt hurt, chill, take a seat and enjoy the show, not like these guys pay ya to argue non stop like this (that goes for all sides Ninty included)

But you miss the part where M$ refer solely to pricing. As in advertising their console against the cost of the competition. Not a poor feature list that actually backfires hugely.
