Forums - Sales - I'm Calling it: 3DS Launch Date Will be Revealed on July 29, 2010

I don't know. Your reasoning makes sense, but it still seems early....

It really doesn't make sense.....why would a company pick a time (earnings report) that gets mostly financial press, and then talk about a product launch?  You'd think that nintendo would pick a time that it would have a lot more press attending, more diversified press, gaming press like the TGS or something.   Earnings report , lol

It's just a launch date, not a product reveal, we know what the 3DS is all about know. They don't need to show it at an other conference.

 We'll see then..

I'm not saying they will reveal a launch date, but it would be a good opportunity.

I hope so. I just want to know. The uncertainty is killing me.

At the financial results briefing for the fiscal term ending March 2010 (held on 7 May 2010) Nintendo announced Wii Party.

Around the time for the Q2 financial results briefing for the fiscal term ending March 2010 (held on 30 October 2009) they announced the DSi XL.

And the 3DS was announced on 23 March 2010 with this message.

So if Nintendo wants to announce the release date at the earnings release they will.

They will announce the release date and other info when they feel like it. They could hold a press conference out of the blue if they wanted to, just like they did in February.

My guess is that the 3DS Launch schedule will mirror that of the DSi XL/LL, with Japan getting it first in November and everyone else getting it in March.

Probably not. This is a brand new system. Remember, we got Nintendo DS and Wii first.

Thats just it Dallas - I've seen and played with the 3DS at E3. It is revealed. We know it has 70 games coming and that it will be out by March 2011. Nintendo just has to specify timing and shipment figures.

Nintendo doesn't show up to TGS. Except for Iwata's keynote speech about the Revolution controller in 2005. That was it.
