Electronic Theatre has investigated the likelihood of finding a new Xbox 360 at a number of retailers across the country and discovered that many locations are sold out.

"None of the stores contacted by Electronic Theatre held any remaining units, and one stockist suggested that they had, 'greatly underestimated the demand for the new unit.' "

Additional consoles are expected to ship to retailers - Tesco, Sainsbury's, GAME, and others - sometime in the next week or two; however, none of these stores are offering pre-orders on the next shipment, meaning that any new stock that comes in will be sold on a first come, first served basis.

What's interesting is, all the supermarkets are sending BACK phats to Microsoft, because they don't want to offer them at a discounted price.

I guess the 360 will outsell the PS3 again next week. Not bad considering its just a new model with no price cut.

Lol, here the fats are still sitting on clearance while the Slims are almost gone. I went into Best Buy again today and they had 2 Slims not in a mandatory bundle and a crap bunch of fat elites on sale. The arcades are doing really well though on clearance, it's just that for 50$ more you can get the new elite instead of the old one.

Because they'd lose money on the phats, or they are seeing this huge demand for Slims and want to sell the more profitable Slims instead to these customers?

Looks like Xbox Brand is becoming HUGE everywhere... Japan left.

Probably going to buy one myself soon.

The drive of my old Premium SKU is busted. After 2 RROD's I'm not sure if it's worth it to change the drive myself. (It's a bit more compicated than just switching the drives...)
