Forums - General Discussion - Top 25 Comic Book Movies of All Time

Some comments...

  • I prefer Secret of the Ooze over the first TMNT movie, but that's probably my inner childhood talking. It was cheese, I agree, but it was Gouda Cheese.
  • Hellboy was good, but Hellboy 2 was even better. I still think that the Angel of Death is one of the coolest looking cosutmes ever.
  • Batman Returns... and no Batman? Come on, Jack's Joker is one of the all time greatest villains in cinema history.
  • Good to see Dick Tracy up there. Man, I used to watch the cartoons when I was a kid. So racist... and yet so good.
  • Sin City beneath 300 and Kick Ass? Whatever floats your boat... Frodo Brown the Cannibal still scares me...
  • Okay, props for Batman: Mask of the Phantasm being up there. The Animated Series is my favorite cartoon ever, and the movie was at the peak of the show's greatness.
  • The rest of the top ten is expected, but got to give a shoutout to Road of Perdition. Great movie.
  • Dark Knight, the perfect summer blockbuster at #1? Thumbs up.

batman returns? Even the title of the movie is fail, nothing in the movie suggests he was ever gone since the first part

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

I thought that everyone thought that Superman 2 was much better than the first.  I guess that IGN doesn't.

By the way, Superman 2 is my favorite.

Kick-Ass was such raping of the comic.  I suggest everyone read that comic and NEVER watch the movie.  Not a bad list at all, though.

Wow really?  I loved the film.  I read somewhere it was a great adaptation of a great comic.  I trust you though, so I guess I'll have to read the comic.  It's not super-long is it?

The upcoming tin tin movie will claim the number one spot!

It already has the best music. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N_EK_tFz9ug

haha ,

Peter Jackson/Steven Spielberg are directing the "new" one, it's supposed to come out next summer.  I hope they don't cock it up.

Edit: there are plans for a second movie if this one goes well.

i lost faith in anything that involves Spielberg a long time ago.

The only reason I wanted to read the comic was because of the film.  I got the comic and I could not stop smiling.  The dialog, the pacing, the twists, the finale, it was awesome!  I saw the movie about a week later.  Maybe if I'd never read the comic, my opinion would've been different.  Anyway, get the comic (seeing the movie has blown some of the surprises).  Trust me on this one.
