Not at all, of course consoles sell when they get a price cut, your argument is essentially, 360 only sells because it's cheaper.

Its most likely because of the Price drops that accompanied the slim to get all of the older SKU models out of inventory. but either way its cool i hate the Wii and nintendo now

Sure, people like the 360, many love it- but the reason why so many pick the 360 instead of the PS3 is because it is cheaper, and the sales are evidence for this.

What your post suggests is that the 360 is selling more because it is more liked. You need to think about what sales would be right now if PS3 and 360 were at the same price.

Ok, well the sales aren't evidence I suppose - moreso just evidence that people buy more consoles when they are cheaper.

Look, if PS3 and 360 were at an equal price, the PS3 would steamroll the 360 in sales.

That shows what console has more demand, and what is the stronger brand name.

The 360's price is its competitive advantage.

PS3 slim vs Xbox 360 slim... same price in NA.

1st neither sony or ms call them the slim and if you think that this current ps3 model will be the slimest model available then you'll soon be surprised

2nd ms 250gb or what many call 360 slim is 250gb that would go against sonys ps3 250gb which is $350

3rd also its not the same in NA there are older models being phased out that are $150 $250 some even come with 2 games and old 250gb with a AAA game for $350 and there was a 99 deal on the arcade

4th look at june npd ps3 at 300k from last months 150k and the 360 was at 190k in may do think if there was no price cut on the older models or the new 360 model that the 360 would of won june? i dont think so

thats not the reason it sells, its the reason it sell more than

To help clear up the issue, BBH I think you're speaking mostly in general, whereas Seece is mainly speaking of the recent model. No, the 360S (250GB) model isn't selling more because of price, but value. It's obviously not price, as it's the same price as past Elite models were.

On the talks of why it's selling more than the PS3 in the UK (and US), price is a major role, but so is the library, LIVE, and media capabilities, but price cannot be ignored.

how do we know the ratio between old stock and new stock sold or previous owners upgrading to know if 360S alone is selling more than PS3? i wouldnt think there are alot of previous owners upgraded from fat to slim ps3 since they striped many things from previous models
