About this "N" character: his cause may actually be worthwhile. *GASP* I've always wondered, as have many PKMN fans I'm sure, precisely why PKMN serve man. They are in all cases physically, and in many cases mentally, superior to man. Yet even in the best of cases (such as the "boy and his dog dynamic" that many "good" trainers share with their partner PKMN) they are treated as animals. Why aren't the human characters worshipping PKMN rather than having them as pets? I may not know the answer to that question, but I do know that something is going to make "N" the villain of these games. My guess would be the means to his endgame, which is to divide man from PKMN so that, according to the original translation, "everything would be black and white"... Personally I believe a more appropriate interpretation (although it is just conjecture on my part) would be that he simply believes that man's dominance over PKMN flies in the face of the natural order of things, as opposed to actually BEING the natural order of things. If I am correct, all this guy is going to achieve is hurting his own cause to the point of calamitous failure. Your thoughts?

I like your idea of Pokemon being superior to humans. But according to the anime, humans have guns. People use guns to kill things. Pokemon do not have guns. Humans do. Humans could potentially kill pokemon with their guns. Humans > Pokemon.

I like your idea of humans having guns. But according to the anime, the humans that use those guns in most cases either can't hit the broad side of The Great Wall of China (fuck the barn) or can't do enough damage with their ammo to make shooting a Pokemon worth the goddamn effort. Humans < Pokemon.

This reminds me of that one story in the only library in the Pokemon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum game.

The story was about a man who killed pokemon with his sword which grew more powerful with each pokemon bloodstain on it. He killed Pokemon to prove that he (or maybe mankind as well?) was stronger than Pokemon. As he killed the Pokemon, they began to gradually hide themselves from people. When no more Pokemon revealed themselves to the hunter and mankind, the hunter realized he and mankind needed them in their world.  Then a pokemon spoke to his mind (Arceus?). It told the hunter that pokemon have hidden themselves from him and humanity because he had murdered so many of them. Pokemon will only come back if the hunter destroyed his sword and repented his way. The hunter listened to the Pokemon by shattering his sword's blade and repenting his way by burying the bones of the Pokemon he killed (or maybe the latest one?) and honoring their death. Soon the Pokemon came back to earth and humanity and the hunter swore he would never hunt another Pokemon for the rest of his life.

Wow...I never, ever, ever thought of this before, but you're absolutely right.

Alakazam is supposed to have a brain better than the greatest supercomputers...why the hell is he letting himself be treated like an animal, a mere pet, to these inferior humans?

And Machamp, who is incredibly powerful, why is he letting the weakling humans (who can't pass a simple tiny bush covering their path [use hm01!]) have complete power over him?

Wait a second, why the hell can't Alakazam say anything other than his name, if he's so smart? Why are all pokemon so underdeveloped with regards to their vocalization? Maybe the rationality and reasoning parts of their brains are completely inept, as well as their use of language.

Wait a second, why the hell can meowth, of all pokemon, speak english clearly when none other can?! (besides mewtwo's telepathy in the first movie)

And why the hell have I never questioned any of this before?!

I remember the episode where it revealed how he learnt to talk good episode.

on topic IDK why pokemon serve humans, but the pokeball brainwashing angle seems to be plausible lol. As for humans vs pokemon as some pokemon seam to be on the level of demigods I don't see how humans stand a chance really. I mean I seem to remember an episode where a load of Tentacruel destroyed an entire city and the psychic pokemon could brainwash us and jigglypuff could lul us all to sleep etc OMG the humans will be forced to use the bomb, if they have it.

Lance's Dragonite used Hyper Beam on a human in HG/SS... the guy was knocked to the back of the room but seemed unharmed otherwise.

Scared out of his wits, sure, but unharmed.
