360s in America is almost impossible to find at a retail store.  Plenty of Arcade units still around at the $149 price point.  I think we can assume this means alot of current 360 owners are picking up the newer version, and new adopters are choosing to pick up the 360's.  Will have to wait and see if MS can keep up with demand cause right now they are definately having a hard time doing so.  If the demand remains this high going into november with Natal launch and the usual christmas sales we could see massive shortages of the new model.

Good sales 360 <3 The slim must be working.

Looking at the SW vs the HW I'm a little suspicious about that angle in the US... but I can't say more as I promised Seece I was going to post something positive about the 360!  Like noting those are very good sales coming at a slow time of year!

It's a pity for MS that they couldn't quite align the perfect storm.  With Japan seeing a spike and the US sales only EMEA is spoiling the party.  I wonder what 360 WW sales would have been if they'd managed a totally sync'd launch and price cut campaign?

i think microsoft made a terrible mistake not launching the slim at the same time as kinect. They should have waiting till the kinect was ready and launched the $300 360S at the same time as a $400 360s with kinect bundled. This is because every week the slim sells that kinect isn't is a lot of lost potential sales of kinect. Bundles are going to be the only way the kinect will sell well at least initially and 360 wasted a very big hardware boost by not doing them both together.
Nice numbers for the 360, though. And good ps3 software sales. Wii will probably be back on top by a month or two.

Sweet!  360 about to be up YOY for the year to date over 2009!  Best year for the 360 is going to be it's 5th year or later?! Man this gen is an odd one.

The slim boost will not last so much longer.

It will decline soon, but will remains in front of the ps3 like before, until next year where ps3 will got a price cut.

Just wanting to keep in mind that those numbers include a large number of people who merely traded in their old system for a new version especially while Gamestop was handing out an AWSOME deal for the system.  IE 100 for the system 30 for the 20 GB HDD and more for each additional controller.

I think the main reasoning is to clear the pipe of the older generation and also allow for the redesigned Arcade to come out around the time of the Kinect. Once they have these ducks in a row I then expect a price reduction on what would be the standard 360. At this point I expect them to push the Arcade/Kinect bundle hard trying to attract the casual market whilst keeping one eye on the existing userbase.

Oh, you're meaning cumulative YoY, I was meaning weekly sales YoY, and with Slim boost, followed in a few months by Slim Arcade, Kinect and Xmas boosts, XB360 has good chances of keeping up weekly YoY for quite a long time, like PS3 is still doing 9 months after its Slim launch. This will eventually become cumulative YoY up too, obviously, if the boost doesn't fade too quickly.

In Americas Ps3 has no chance it was already behind 360 even before Slim cames out. NPD Data shows 5 FULL Months of 360 Beating Ps3 in United States. So unless there´s no NEXT Xbox or Ps4 will be very very very good i dont see things changing in States anytime Soon.

As for Europe if Microsoft can steal europe dude Sony is in a very bad position... And lets see about Japan but thats only on Xbox 1080 :b
