can everyone list their top 10 3d movies.... ?

1. Avatar.
2. How to train your dragon.
3. Erm haven't seen any others!

an all too common story....

so why do we want 3d tv's again?

Honestly... We don't. Yet.

It's like when the HD craze was first starting. There wasn't many Movies or shows or anything in HD, but it got bigger, and is still growing now.

3D could be the same.

We also don't need gaming.  It's too common for people to use their personal preferences as "justification" to promote a vain and self-centered agenda

Who said anything about NEEDING?

Wanting something and needing something are 2 totally different things.

My point was, there aren't enough reasons for many people to WANT a 3D TV... Yet.

Sony reminds me of a kid, who's constantly calling other kids names. And when somebody does the same to him, he starts crying.

That was a good one. Thanks for making me laugh.

We know Nintendo's "no more glasses" statement is an indirect attack to Sony, among other things.

But I agree that Nintendo shouldn't abuse of it, cause as things go, the next Nintendo home console might make a good use of those infamous glasses. Or at least, that's what I hope.

Nintendo being arrogant again.

tut, tut, tut.

You're drawing that conclusion from a thread about a comment made by Sony?

I was calling Nintendo's bashing of glasses arrogant.

Oh, I see.

But why would it be arrogant? Agressive maybe, but arrogant?

I LOVE ICELAND!

it is true, the proper 3d with glasses on a tv set is the only way you can have a theater experiance at home,

its not as if a 3ds users will have all his friends round to watch a movie or so lol.

If you are watching a 3d movie that is....

How many 3d movies are actually worth watching on the small screen?   actually how many are worth watching at all?

Don't forget the Football!

Quite a few matches last season were in 3D if i remember correctly. Could be a weekly thing, eventually.

that was in pubs only...

but yes this year Sky are showing some...

YAY - more expense.. they will be pay per view, even if you have a HD subscription (as I do)

Like i said in the other post...

Yet! We wont need them YET!

In a couple years it will be becoming the new standard, and there will be a "Sky 3D" subscription/box

hd boxes are 3d ready.

I just go one of the new 1TB boxes.

Awesome. Didn't know that.

I still expect them to milk 3D for all it's worth though

nothings wrong with working together to accomplish the same goal and thats promoting  3D tech when you both have a vested interest in it.

god! some times gamers can b so harsh.

Same reason why people wanted PS3s at launch, because being an early adopter test pilot is SO COOL! Never mind that the Slim PS3 uses half the power and is half the price of the launch unit and without that pesky waiting for content.

Tease.

Because people like wearing glasses.

They don't have the right to bash it, just because they think there version is better. They are being arrogant.

Oh, want or need I agree with you.  But the principle I was pointing out was just because I don't need/want something is no excuse to channel my hatred towards something to dismiss it such as Squilliam and Kowenicki are trying to do.  These guys have displayed over and over again that they hate SONY more than they love gaming.  So if it's SONY related, they are going to find some excuse for the rest of us to dismiss it just because "they don't want it" so it applies to the rest of us.

Hackers are poor nerds who don't wash.

they both have something to loss if it fails and nintendo can take all the credit (cause thats whts going to happen even if sony works with them) if it succeeds eventhough sony talked 3D first.

Oh.

kowenicki doesn't hate Sony. He just hates Sony fanboys, stupidity and people trying to rip him off.

Squill, i have no idea.
