Nintendo__Microsoft__Sony

Around the Network

Well for me it was easily Nintendo.  But Sony still had a strong conference.  MS had a great one until Kinect came out haha.  Shot themselves in the foot with just demos not going so hot and the games being unappealing.

Nintendo came pretty close to an almost spectacular conference had it not been for Zelda being there.  Weird that this is being said, but Zelda should not have been there in demonstration form.  Even though impressions are saying it worked, visually and gameplay wise it's unfinished.  It almost felt like that this like a small demo made just to demonstrate the new controls which well didn't go so hot during the conference.  I really wish Nintendo just would have opted for a trailer instead.

But aside from that Nintendo pulled out the guns and easily had the diversity and amount to have a spectacular show.  But really, the kicker was 3DS.  Coming in it was all about the 3 new things of 3DS, Kinect, and Move and well 3DS stole the show.  It not only had the wow effect, but it had the support and big names to back it up.

Sony had a solid show as well which marks 3 years straight, but it was more of a safe route this year.  But solid enough to leave people happy coming out.  I definitely enjoyed watching it.  But MS on the other hand just left me shocked in another way and that being such a big push for Kinect but pushing little pebbles rather than stones.  If you are going to go all out like that, then bring something massive NOT Kinectimals.

So yea Nintendo followed by Sony with MS in 3rd for me.  Last year I thought it was about a dead even tie but this year there were some clear differences.  However, I still think my biggest disappointment will go to Zelda.  Not that I'm unhappy with it, but what they showed didn't thrill and what they didn't show left me aching haha.  Luckily it isn't coming out until 2011 and I'm sure we won't see it again for a very long time.  It's obvious there is a lot of development time left and we'll see where it goes.

Frankly I thought E3 sucked this year compared to the last three. The future of gaming is just not what I want. After seeing what Kinect and Move have coming out I have no interest in Motion Controls, even less then I did before. I have never had a moment where I wanted to do any 3D gaming.

Hell yeah there are a lot of sequels to games I love coming out that I will buy. However other then Bulletstorm, was there any new IP shown at all by anyone?  Plenty of remakes of old games coming out. I saw nothing that got me excited like seeing Alan Wake or Heavy Rain for the first time.  Things from last year, were totally passed over at the conferences. No Milo, No Crackdown, no Last Guardian, No Agent, No La Noire, no nothing new or original. As a gamer I really am at a time where it really is pissing me off that instead of coming out with more new and original titles, they hide it with gimmicks, and bashing each others companies like fanboys. Grow up.

I think Nintendo easily won the show. So many awsome games shown and the 3DS looks amazing. Sony's was ok, and MIcrosoft's....well, Halo and a couple other games look good :p

Nintendo>>>>>>>>>>>>>Sony>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Microsoft

Remember, magic is just stuff science has not made boring yet.

For just console, I call it a three-way tie, depending on what games you like.  If you like Zelda, you're all in for Nintendo.  If you like Gears/ Halo MS, the glimpses of those were awesome.  For PS3 - - well, I got nothing there.  Is Twisted Metal THAT big of a deal or surprise?  We kind of all thought it was coming, no, despite Jaffe's subterfuge?  Move and Kinetic somewhat cancel each other out, though I'd still give a slight edge to the potential of Kinetic, with a slight minus to some of the weird presentation of it.  360 gets points for the surprise immediate slim launch.  Nintendo's stuff all looks quality, and PS3 gets points (for the 5th year straight?!?!) for tantalizing us with GT5.

For handhelds:  Nintendo destroyed PSP.  They'll sell another billion DS's.

Can't we all just get along and play our games in peace?

ITs funny that Nintendo won, despite Miyamoto San being embarrassed that his game wasn't working due to interference.

Yeah, I felt like shit as I watch. It was painful and somehow ruined Zelda's presentation.

But the rest of the show was out of this world. Really really awesome.

Question: did anybody else thought during the 3DS video that Reggie would let the mushroom go to pick up the coins instead of the 3DS?

I lol'd hard at Gabe Newell going "thanks for not punching me in the face" on stage... very fun Sony presentation. At that price I'll be picking up a move controller bundle.

Nintendo had a great presentation.. will be picking up Kid Icarus, Kirby and a 3DS. :>

Zelda not so much.. got enough unfinished Zelda games on the shelves already :/

Ninty >>>>>>>>>>> Microsoft > Sony

Nintendo brought their A game today. The 3DS had an impressive showing: great features, 3D movies, impressive graphics for a handheld, strong 3rd party support, incredible line-up of franchises and games, etc. Donkey Kong Country Returns almost made me cry. I'm very happy that it was announced.

Microsoft's started off strong, but went downhill when they made the transition to Kinect. Kinect has some nice features, and some games - notably Ubisoft's Fitness game and the Dance game - can be a huge hit if marketed correctly. I'll admit that I want to play the dance game.

Sony had too much talking and repetition. They showed off montage of games they've already shown in the conference. Move didn't impress me one bit and didn't show what made it different from Wii. All the games announced were already 'leaked' or expected.

Nintendo wiped the dirt off their now spotless shoes all over Sony and MS.

(:

I really don't get why so many say Nintendo was that great. I mean Zelda was great and should probably win game of the show, but that's about it. I mean i'm pretty excited about the 3DS, but we already knew that was coming and screens of the games so far don't look that great(still below PSP level). Also Goldeneye isn't really a complete ''re-make'', and i expected more of the Donkey Kong game.

I'm actually dissapointed in all conferences this year.
