I don't think there is anywhere left to go with car combat as a standalone game. I mean, sandbox games already do have car combat, some of them pretty sweet combat (prototype).
I guess his thinking is that complex game modes = next gen car combat game
We will surely see The Last Guardian in TGS.
Overall, an ok conference from Sony, nowhere near Nintendo's but still bests Microsoft.

Isn't Portal 2 being announced as being the best version on the PS3 from "VALVE"(of all freakin people) and Twisted Metal on the PS3 big enough? I very much doubt they could squeeze in all the exclusives such as Last guardian etc... Their conference would have been too long. They had to get word out for move and showcase it and 3d tech.
I am a Gamer... I play games and not consoles. I have a PC and Console on which I game... I like games. End of Story!
One of the major problems was the fact that the just Talked WAYY too damn much in this conference. Rather mehish IMO. That and not enough RPGs!
Still, people forget that they've announced games for the last months. If they forced everything into E3 it would've been epic, but alot of the games would suffer because the lack of time.

Good:
-LittleBigPlanet 2
-Killzone 3
-Portal 2
-Kevin Butler
-PSN : 3 free months, very reasonable price.
-Nice new advertising campaign for the PSP
-Sorcery looks good.
-Twisted Metal!
Bad:
-Excessive focus on third parties and multiplatform games.
-WAY too much time given to Move.
-No Last Guardian
-No Agent
-No Last Guardian
-No Syphon Filter
-No Last Guardian
-No Team ICO Collection
-They completely ignored the Sly collection after featuring it in the montage.
-WAY too many montages.
Overall...... not bad. Not particularly good, but not bad. Definitely better than Microsoft, nowhere near Nintendo.
