And the delusions of GC graphics continue to persist.

The PSP has almost-PS2-quality graphics, and it came out how many years ago?  Are you aware how long ago that is in technological terms?  Gamecube is on the lower end of what they could feasibly do.

This is true, I don't understand the whole 'It's Nintendo, it'll have weak hardware' mentality.. Gamecube tech will be 10 years old, perhaps older when you consider what it was based on..

Also IF the 3DS has two 3D screens, not likely but possible, it will have a higher total resolution than the iPhone 4, iPad and Wii. It'll be 0.82mp, 720p is 0.92mp. That kind of output would need serious power. (Again that is unlikely) but you can see that power will be needed, one 3D screen or two.

Nor do I.  The Wii is the only time they've made a technologically weaker console, and who can blame them?  They were on the verge of being forced out of the console market, so they needed to make enough profit to run the company even if their risk failed and their console only sold five million.

Don't anyone even try to tell me that the DSwas inferior hardware at the time.  When the DS came out, no previous handheld device had ever dreamed of producing a polygon.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

3ds is going to cost loads if this is true:(...

I'm not sure I understand your reasoning. N64 tech was not as old in 2004 as Gamecube tech is now; why would the latter be more expensive than the former in their respective timeframes?

Here's why:

Many devs complain that the Wii isn't very powerful because 'it can not do shader effects... blah blah blah'. This is complete bull crap. It can indeed do shader effects. However, it does them completely differently than most developers want it to be done. Therefore, rather than take some time to learn new ways of doing things, they blow the whole system off without a second thought.

Now, if the 3DS used a more common GPU architecture with the shader functions developers are used to, they might falsely believe it is more powerful than the Wii.

I can't wait till E3 if for no better reason to have this damn "3DS speculation" come to an end.  Yeesh.

The rumors are getting nuts.  One claims the thing is "on par with HD systems," which is just absurd.  At best, it's probably GameCube hardware made small enough to fit in a nice little DS package, hopefully with larger, and much higher res screens.

One thing that truly needs to happen is for Nintendo to open up the DS cards to offer more than 2 gigabits of information.  If an SD card can reach 32 gigabytes, then the 3DS cards better be able to reach at least half that.

Which, of course, they won't.

I say this about once every six or eight months, but I'll do it again now:

If they showed me a handheld Wind Waker, my head would explode.

I am one of those who bitches about remakes and ports that donn't add anything to the experience, but that? I'd make an exception.

So why would Wind Waker be an exception? Because u always dreamt of being able to play it on a tiny screen (J/K)? Or is it cos of the 3-D?

Actually, yes. I used to fantasize the same way about Super Mario 64.

Try to imagine having a version of Oblivion you could carry around with you and play whenever - and wherever - you want.

Haha, good analogy. I would love that.

That makes me wonder though if Wind Waker is your favorite game all time. I would have guessed Ocarina, or something completely different.
