You realize those are first party right? Retro is a first party company, and Other M is the original Metroid team in conjunction with Team Ninja. Prime had Nintendo of Japan watching like a hawk like the N64 game being scrapped all together cause Miyamoto told Retro to not make it a TPS like they had at first. So I'm not getting the point there

You're still fundamentally wrong in that Teletubbies aren't speaking a proper language, most of the time.

You aren't focusing on the point of my post though, even after I've now made clearer my example. |
You didn't qualify "failed language" in any way.
I love gaming but wish a lot of the people in the media spotlight would grab a dictionary and read it every now and then, because mature doesn't quite mean what G4 thinks it means in this instance.
Then again, this is G4 so expecting them to be mildly educated might be a little much.

I think you're missing the point that, me, Khuutra, and many others have made in the thread. Maturity isn't something that can be dictated by voice acting or no voice acting, nor does derogatory terms need to be applied to things you don't view as "mature" especially when you're doing it to complain about games and doing it with things that don't really relate. You can't patronize someone with how "immature" you view something as, and you should probably directly say what you dislike rather than call it something it's not.
The point of your post was to say how you dislike the route Zelda has taken, but you were using improper ways to debate and back up your claim, which is the focus of most of the counter points against you, you think we're missing the point, but not seeing that we are just directly knocking out your basis for your claims. In real debates like if you were to be on debate team and being graded on making a solid point your stance would have been detroyed and you wouldn't have a leg to stand on. Which is essentially what forums are for discussion and debate, it's debate team online

"A majority of Zelddas fans have grown older yet Zelda has not and keeps targeting the same age group every game. Can look at multiple other games series for examples of games that grow with the players and the person making the statement which caused this thread is one of the people that wishes Zelda woudl grow like some other games."
My issue is that Zelda hasn't taken a route, it doesn't change. Look at the Metroid series for example, its changed and grown over the years in ways which Zelda games have failed to do. Metroid Prime 3 finally added voice acting and Other M is finally completing that by making Samus speak and become more engaging.
And just to be clear I never agreed with the entire OP quote, I think Zelda games are plenty long enough. |
Lets make all games head into the same directions and take all weapons and classes away from World of Warcraft then instead give them all sticks to hit each other on the head with. But yes, voice acting would be nice, which has nothing to do with how mature the game is or should be. Not to mention Zelda has changed plenty, while keeping the basics there.

That's a route... change and not changing are both routes to take with a series... *sigh* *shakes head and walks away*
EDIT- For the record Metroid really hasn't changed, it's still exploring and puzzle solving, with upgrades to reach places you weren't able to go before. Basically what you're asking for it seems is voice acting, like somehow that is the difference between mature and immature like a book is less mature than books on tape or movies of that book.
A better stance for you is "I wish Zelda would include voice acting, the series is a story heavy series that could benifit from it" since that seems to be all you want when you boil it down, and people wouldn't jump in your shit for stating something like that, as I too wouldn't mind NPCs talking.

So Nintendo waters down the RPGs? Is that way the vast majority of the "hardcore" gaming community bitched about Fire Emblem's difficulty? Side note: The only Zelda game in the franchise that's an RPG is Zelda II.
