Forums - General - Where does evil come from?

Pretty self explanatory. I asked my friend a few days ago who is a Christian where does evil come from. He claimed the devil made sin, but I had to ask does that mean that Satan can do something God can't and wouldn't that limit his omnipotent. I am just curious because I think he gave a poor answer so I am going to ask this community. Where does evil come from?

Evil comes from the balls.

Because some bitch named Eve fucked everything up for us 6000 years ago by listening to a talking snake.

That depends what "evil" is.

I personally don't think it exists. What's evil to one person is righteous to another.

Seriously though, I don't think there is a good and evil. Decades ago, it was okay to marry a girl when she was 14 years old. Centuries ago, it was okay for a man to have multiple wives. What was good and evil didn't change. Only our perception of what was good and what was evil.

So, if I had to answer honestly, I'd have to say evil comes from perception.

If a lion killed another lion or if a fish ate another fish, would it be evil or would it be nature? Our nature is to do what would be considered evil. Our ability to reason is what decides if a deed is good or evil. And this opinion of good and evil isn't even uniform across the globe.

My real answer, events happen naturally , we are the ones that label them good and evil.

We also label these events in a spectrum. There is no such thing as good and evil per se, but good on one side of the spectrum and evil on the other, and everything exists as points in between.
