Dude, I'm not a tea partier, but I know enough about them to know that you are wrong. they are NOT a libertarian movement, and as such cannot be copying the libertarian party. the fact that even you, with political beliefs that so closely mimic those of the tea party movement, are throwing them under the bus, tells me that they have something going here. If no party really wants align themselves with this movement, then I think its a good movement for America. Flush out the weasels I say.

Actually opa stated they "adopted libertarian ideals".  Nice how people see what they want to see.  But I understand as I've met many like you before.  Also remember, I said "for the most part, I agree" when dealing with what opa said.  Meaning you have no idea which parts I agreed with and which I didn't.  But I guess assumption is just as good right.

But no I throw them under the bus because they use my political beliefs as a way of political gain and whining... or at least how I personally perceive it.  Use my beliefs like an extra ace up the sleeve and I don't approve of it.  It's disrespectful to me and other libertarians.  Shouldn't have to sell my sould to the devil just for the sake of a bunch of paranoid people to make my beliefs mainstream.  But as I stated I'm a little biased on the situation.

You stated that the tea party was trying to copy the libertarian party, they are not, if you cannot come to terms with that, then I'm sorry, but your party isn't mainstream enough for that. I said many in the tea parties have beliefs that closely RESEMBLE libertarian ideal. They are in no way trying to copy them. I suggest you get off your high horse and realize that libertarian ideals are not worth emulating since they are a fringe group with sometimes very radical views. The reason the tea parties exist is the existence of utter scum in Washington, nothing more. Seriously, you can't use your belies as a front for the fact that you are clueless when it comes to what this movement is all about. Let me say this again THE TEA PARTIES ARE IN NO WAY COPYING THE LIBERTARIAN MOVEMENT. So settle down.

No that's not what I said.  If you can't even read what I said then why are you having a discussion with me.  Go back, READ EXACTLY WHAT I SAID, not what you want me to say and then respond.

As I said earlier though, I have a certain bias towards that of the Tea Party, so I'm sure I don't accurately understand what it is.  But don't take this as disrespectful, but I doubt you do either.

Now that's comedy.

Personally, I don't find illiteracy all that funny but I'm sure there are some that get off on it.  But I will get off my high horse, as soon as someone teaches this man how to read.  I knew our education system was fucked up, but worse than I thought.

Oh man, that's insidious stuff. Can you imagine what would happen if the tea party assimilated that 0.5% of the electorate comprised by libertarians? They'd be unstoppable!

It's pretty strange that you, as a libertarian, have infinitely more vitriol for people who have some libertarianish values than you do for people who haven't a libertarian bone in their bodies. Even stranger when the latter control all the levers of power and the former control none.

But yea it is possible I could hate someone who could be a diehard libertarian if I think they are nothing more than a fake and a liar.  I have more respect for someone who is a diehard socialist than a two-faced libertarian.  At least one of them has respect for themselves.  Which is why I don't like the tea party people because personally I don't think they take my political ideologies all that serious.

I don't see how you can think that they're trying to put one over on anybody. For one thing, I've never seen them claim to be libertarians (though I have seen a lot of libertarians who have varying degrees of enthusiasm for the tea party). It actually seems like you should have a fair amount in common with them politically, but you'd rather take potshots at them because they're so decidedly uncool.

Pathetic, utterly pathetic, it's called a typo, would you like me to get the definition for you??? I'm sure neither of you two clowns have ever made one yourselves.

Um the Tea Party adopted the whole grassroots, libertarian ideals from the Ron Paul campaign and twisted them into some Neo-conservative, dogamatic perversion.

Their followers are idiotic: as evident by their self-appointed leader, Sarah Palin.

For the most part, that's my opinion of the Tea Party haha.  Bunch of angry people that know nothing about the actual libertarianism.

You agreed with what Opa stated, you therefore are saying the same thing.

Well I'm sorry for not fitting a mold that you have stereotyped.  I'll work on that next time.  No most of them don't claim to be libertarians though, because I doubt they know what the word means.  Not enough of a mainstream media term for them to fully be aware of.

And once again it is just my opinion of them and probably just a thing I use against them that a lot of fans of unpopular bands use against new fans that come in once they are popular.  But I also think those tea party guys are just like the ones who started to hate Bush but were on the other side of things.  People always use "anti-government" as a way to mask I don't like the people in it.

Yeah, that is precisely what I mean when I said they're just too uncool for you.

And that is where you are wrong and where I specifically pointed it out to you in an earlier point.  Here's EXACTLY what I said:

"For the most part, that's my opinion of the Tea Party haha."

Keyword for the most part.  I left that in because, I didn't agree with the way he worded it and the part about Sarah Palin.  That part was just silly.  In concept, imo, I think he is right that a lot of what the Tea Party is, is just the adopting and missusing some libertarian values for their own personal neo-conservatism platform.

No where in there is it stating that they have copied the libertarian party, nowhere in there did I state I fully agree 100% of what opa said, and nowhere does it state that they were trying to copy the libertarian ideals to push that as their main platform.  Actually my second part of that stated how they didn't understand what actual libertarianism is, suggesting that I don't think these guys are libertarians.  In a weird way, I kinda agreed with what you were saying that these aren't libertrarians.

What party is rand paul in?

Haha you know I specifically included that in there knowing that it was the only part you would probably comment on.  Well if it helped better understanding then fine.  Wasn't a perfect analogy, but if "uncool" means not pure enough in the values of libertarianism then sure it is too "uncool" for me.

Wow Ironman, shut up. You're annoying me.

Yup, those are the words I thought I'd never have to said to anyone called Iron Man, but I guess I had to. Here you are, telling someone to get off their high horse (which they're not really on), and then at the same time, calling people clueless and labeling them as clowns. Gee, maybe that's being on a high horse when you have to resort to insulting other people? I dunno, you tell me.
