To be fair he was more just parroting what he's heard most likely... a lot of democrats have been attacking Rasmussen lately, all part of the political game. 

When you do actual analysis vs the real outcomes though... Rasmussen always seems to do best.  There is a reason why I said they're generally the most credible. 

It's funny that you say this, because there is a good number of Democrats and independents that are tea partiers (or as some wise ass put it, "tea baggers") Contrare to popular belief, this movement transcends party lines, and people on both sides of the isle are running scared.

No, just...no. Try learning something about the movement before you spew this propaganda that has been spoon fed to you by the left wing media.

Here are a few clues, Sarah Palin is not a leader of the tea party movement by any means, not even self appointed, her ideals fall closely withing the range of the tea partiers and as such, she makes a great candidate for giving speeches, because like it or not, she knows how to get a crowd going. the tea party started before Ron Paul became mainstream, and originally has nothing to do with him. The movement started BEFORE Obama was elected, around the time George bush authorized the first set of bail outs. and really took off when Obama took the bail outs to a whole new level of insanity. The tea party movement is NOT a political party movement, it does not adhere to any party, and as such, the overall views of the tea partiers will differ from that of any party. 

@ Ninjaguydan did it ever occur to you that the other polls you listed may be left leaning? Or is that unconceivable despite the fact that Rassmusan polls have proven themselves to be the most accurate time and time again.

Well I apologize for generalizing your tea party so much.  There is a little bit of bias on my side due to me being a libertarian and not liking those people which I think are just a bunch of imitators.  Main point I'm trying to push out is this is politics.  Principles and ideas are nice when it comes to these things, but it's never just about that.  Never that black and white.  Like every other movement, they want something and they are playing politics to get it.

As long as the Tea Party pushes for more libertarianism, I'm all for it.

I agree that a lot of them are wolves in sheep's clothing, but if it brings awareness to libertarian ideologies, then I am all for it.

Dude, I'm not a tea partier, but I know enough about them to know that you are wrong. they are NOT a libertarian movement, and as such cannot be copying the libertarian party. the fact that even you, with political beliefs that so closely mimic those of the tea party movement, are throwing them under the bus, tells me that they have something going here. If no party really wants align themselves with this movement, then I think its a good movement for America. Flush out the weasels I say. 

Actually opa stated they "adopted libertarian ideals".  Nice how people see what they want to see.  But I understand as I've met many like you before.  Also remember, I said "for the most part, I agree" when dealing with what opa said.  Meaning you have no idea which parts I agreed with and which I didn't.  But I guess assumption is just as good right.

But no I throw them under the bus because they use my political beliefs as a way of political gain and whining... or at least how I personally perceive it.  Use my beliefs like an extra ace up the sleeve and I don't approve of it.  It's disrespectful to me and other libertarians.  Shouldn't have to sell my sould to the devil just for the sake of a bunch of paranoid people to make my beliefs mainstream.  But as I stated I'm a little biased on the situation. 

Oh man, that's insidious stuff. Can you imagine what would happen if the tea party assimilated that 0.5% of the electorate comprised by libertarians? They'd be unstoppable!

It's pretty strange that you, as a libertarian, have infinitely more vitriol for people who have some libertarianish values than you do for people who haven't a libertarian bone in their bodies. Even stranger when the latter control all the levers of power and the former control none.

You stated that the tea party was trying to copy the libertarian party, they are not, if you cannot come to terms with that, then I'm sorry, but your party isn't mainstream enough for that. I said many in the tea parties have beliefs that closely RESEMBLE libertarian ideal. They are in no way trying to copy them. I suggest you get off your high horse and realize that libertarian ideals are not worth emulating since they are a fringe group with sometimes very radical views. The reason the tea parties exist is the existence of utter scum in Washington, nothing more. Seriously, you can't use your belies as a front for the fact that you are clueless when it comes to what this movement is all about. Let me say this again THE TEA PARTIES ARE IN NO WAY COPYING THE LIBERTARIAN MOVEMENT. So settle down.

But yea it is possible I could hate someone who could be a diehard libertarian if I think they are nothing more than a fake and a liar.  I have more respect for someone who is a diehard socialist than a two-faced libertarian.  At least one of them has respect for themselves.  Which is why I don't like the tea party people because personally I don't think they take my political ideologies all that serious.
