lol Im not worried of losing multiplats. It's not about the games at all, it's all about the console war lol. 

Shipment wise gap can be erased by Cristmas. The gap is only 4.5 million as of 31 March in shipped consoles.

In the past 4 months I've completely stopped caring about the console war, I don't know why. Its like a Eureka moment.

2 years ago I was so into it & wanted PS3 to win no matter what, went into a few days of depression whenever a exclusive went multiplat.

I still want PS3 to do well & still support SONY first & foremost...but the caring about the console war...its gone :(

Hmm...

Am i the only person who sees Sony releasng a whole bunch of PS3 Colours this Holiday?

Just think...

$50 Cut
Wide array of colours added (Pink, Red, Blue, White?)
GT5 Bundles
Move + Game/Games (LBP2/ Move Sports?) Bundles

And that is without some big new game announced at E3. Could "Agent" be the next big thing?

There's no way they're making 15 million without a $50 price cut, at the very least.

Sure, they're 30-40% YoY now, but in absolute numbers that isn't a big deal. According to VGC:

April - Sept 09: ~3.7 mil
Oct 09 - March 10: ~9.6mil

It means they need to not only stay 40% up YoY until September, but remain flat from last year's slim / $100 price cut.

Microsoft's fiscal years end in June and they don't issue forecasts...but can't imagine they expect to ship something other than ~8-12m systems for the period ending March 2011

My guess is Sony cuts price to $250 or $200 in Fall 2010 and this is the peak PS3 year for hw, and a flat / slightly up year for sw. Thoughts?

 

Based on what? Why would they drop by $100?

EDIT: based on their 15 mill projection of course. Just like we predicted Slim at $300 based on the 13 million last FY. Gotya.

I can't see them doing the price drop, their networks and device division is just bleeding right now.

Well, last i saw, Rock* had it for release this year.

We aint even seen ANYTHING from it yet though. They better have a big showing for it at E3.

Why are some people thinking Sony won't make 15 mil consols sold? If you ask me I reckon they'll sell more than that. Probably 16-17 million copys. Do people not remember that the PS3 was selling below 100k for awhile last year before the price drop and they still managed to make there 13 mil forecast.

Sony is not dropping the price for a long time on the PS3. They are still taking losses on every console sold as of right now and the only reason it was dropped to begin with was to get back in the console race.
