They have a solution it's called Nintendo Consumer Service. As long as you have the serial number they will transfer your VC content to another system. The problem is Nintendo will not let you transfer your games over multiple systems. Also your will need to have one of those Wiis connected to a MY Nintendo account.

That's not exactly the best of solutions.

Still.... a solution.

I hope they can find a better one though

It is silly. I don't know why they don't have a Steam like system. I mean it causes more buys... because then space isn't an option... who needs an SD solution when you can just delete games and redownload them later as you need.

You already can do that part.

Nintendo better find me a way to transfer all my hard earned games to my Wii2/3DS. I think the My Nintendo account way would be sufficient as I have had one since the early N-Sider forum days. If they don't have a way then I will hold onto my Wii till the day I die lol.

This is what's stopping me from buying download games on the Wii and DSi. The only DSi games I have were bought with the free 1000 points I got for taking it online.

You can?  Weird... I thought you couldn't hence the need for the SD solution.

It makes it even more perplexing that they don't have it tied to accounts.

I don't think this was an oversight. I think Nintendo didn't want to introduce an account system fearing it would be too intimidating to non-core players. I believe they were fully aware this was problematic but they choose to to keep the interface as simple as they could.

If so, I think Nintendo needs to stop treating its consumer base like total idiots.  >_>

But I doubt they go with things like friend codes because they're simple.

Could they do a firmware update on the Wii which allows a single, direct transfer (via USB or even wirelessly) to the new system? Is such a thing possible?

Nobody's posted the "not my problem" pic yet?
