SaviorX said: I'd say Wii is better than Gamecube, but it is missing a few things. One, is Star Fox, but only the Star Fox Adventures game was good. Several teams want to make a Wii Star Fox but Nintendo isn't doing anything with the IP.
Two, is Timesplitters LOL but every console is missing that this gen.
And third, which is my personal opinion, is WWE Wrestling games. Every year from 2002 to 2005, I bought a wrestling game, and things related to it. I had Wrestlemania X8, X9, Day of Reckoning 1 & 2, Def Jam Vendetta and Fight for NY. The Smackdown games from 2007-2010 are terrible PS2 ports and the gameplay stinks on all consoles. How a Wii game can look worse than a 5 year old GC game is beyond me. It is like they fired everyone who worked on the GC games.
Other than that, Wii is much better than the Gamecube. Without those wrestling/fighting games, I would've been in a serious ass drought. |

Hey don't give me that look!
Although the game gets a bad rap, I never had too many qualms about it when I owned it, and the graphics were impressive at the time. Fox McCloud's fur was amazing!

Haha, don't worry, I liked the game too. But some parts were just stupidly awkward, like that pesky Test of Fear (I think it was called), or the fact that a lot of areas closed off for good once you finished them, going so far even that once you reached the final boss, you couldn't go back to any other part of the entire game, ever. What was up with that? :s
And yes, the graphics were truly stunning at the time (still are, in fact, especially compared to 95% of Wii's library, unfortunately). I liked Fox's (and the other hairy characters') fur too. It looked amazing! The best fur ever in a Nintendo game, bar Mario Galaxy's Bee fur.
And the water, wow I loved those effects. The lighting was splendid too, and even the grass looked marvelous. Looking closely, you could see individual strands of grass, and it all swayed gently, too. Crazy high production values, and one of the very best looking games ever to grace a Nintendo console.
HOWEVER! Calling it the only good Starfox game is oure blasphemy, 'cos that ignores the utter genius of Starfox 64. Best. Starfox. Ever. All the others were poo (imo), with the exception of Adventures, but tbh that wasn't really a real Starfox game. It had been in development for years by Rare and featured original characters, before Nintendo stepped in later, and insisted the Starfox brand be slapped on it, and the whole thing be made into a GC game...
It was a very good game (with some flaws), but not really Starfox. It had nothing really that made it into a pure Starfox game. Those games were always about the flying around in spaceships (and tanks, even a submarine), in a Sci-Fi setting, and shooting incoming hordes of enemies. And cheesy one-liners. SF Adventures tried too hard to be something Starfox really isn't, and could really have been just as nice without any of the SF cast. The only things that made it a SF game, really, were the Arwing bits, and those felt sloppy were short and few & far between, compared to the glory of SF64. The final boss felt totally out of place, too. After playing a Zelda-like 3rd person adventure, at the very end you're suddenly forced to battle the boss in a space shooter? That felt really tacked-on.
Ah well. Sorry for the rant. It's still a nice game.
