Nintendo will probably release the new 3DS for christmas, so no, they wont release 2 new consoles in the same year. The average lifespan for a Nintendo console is a around 5 years though, so if they are smart, they should release a new console in 2011 and make it more powerful than both PS3 and Xbox 360.

That was brilliant... lol!
And you say you don't have anything to interesting to say in threads!
No, the Wii 2 delay isnt hurting Nintendo.
The Wii 2 delay is hurting Pachter's credibility since he can't shut up about it and it's been the cornerstone of his arguments for so long.

i think they need to release a new console by late next year at the earliest, no later than fall 2012. cause if they do that they will be screwed next gen i think, this gameplay over graphics strategy i highly doubt will work for 2 generations in a row.

Specially when competitors imitate the most special thing about their console.
I think next gen if Nintendo doesn't come up with something new to people to look at, all 3 consoles will pretty much look like the same again:
- Wii 2: More graphics + enhanced wiimote and nunchuk as standard (classic controller optional)
- PS4: More graphics + enhanced PS Move as standard control (dualshock 4 optional)
- X720: More graphics + some sort of split controller too working along an enhanced Natal camera.

So this "ecosystem" (as though a buch of technology is natural) is just trying to still pretend that Nintendo needs to catch up to the other guys. Even if that isn't what you intended, you are still implying that. Nintendo is the leader. Their mistake wasn't the specs. The third parties made the mistake of thinking the specs made the games. |
Yes I agree they weren't going to make the system more powerful, however a new architecture would have given them a lot more performance within their given size and power restrictions they chose to hold themselves to. However this isn't the point I was making. They could get their awesome new game concepts out the door far quicker using a retread of their Gamecube architecture because they were already intimately familiar with it. I never said that the Wii specifications were a mistake, they have numerous advantages which has helped the Wii considerably up until this point by using a weaker system.
My major point was that next generation now that they have multiple game concepts under their belt they don't need to come back to a familiar architecture and can branch out in a way which satisfies the demands of the ecosystem in making a console which can recieve portable software from the PC, DX9 consoles and future Sony/Microsoft DX12 consoles. Since they dictate the ecosystem more in the 2nd time around given there will be great anticipation for what they system can accomplish like the PS2 benefited from the third parties can target the system with a full range of software because they will all be acutely aware of their failure this generation with a desire not to repeat it.
Further to that http://store.steampowered.com/hwsurvey
Look at DX10+ on Steam. They have over 50% of the market and PC developers are ready to ditch DX9 and make the same hard break Microsoft did with moving to DX10. They are ready to support DX10+ exclusively and Nintendo can benenfit from cross platform PC games if they use a DX11+ GPU as PC developers have a much easier job of things once they drop DX9 in terms of simplifying overall development. If the Wiimote is like a mouse then why not make the next gen Nintendo system like a PC architecturally speaking?
Tease.
Why does anyone even bothers itself with Nintendo's way to work ... i mean they make more money Sony or MS ever did (i think) and more than anyone of them is doing now , so trust me when i say Iwata knows how to it ... in fact i think that the only reason , to nintendo64 and gamecube to kind of fail , it was cuz Yamauchi was running Nintendo at the time , if Iwata in charge that would never happen ...

Nintendo could u please just take my money and give me back my 3DS?!
As if Mr. Patcher is correct anytime he opens his mouth.. Can't wait for his new gaming machine to be introduced to the market..... Oh wait, It ain't never coming out!!! The Nintendo Wii leads in sales even when sales are low because "ITS FUN!!!" 71 million? That's 31 million more than the (I came out a year earlier) Xbox red ring of death 360 and 41 million more than the ( I have HD and Blue ray but your machine sales are far superior than mine) yellow light of death PS3. I'm not a fan boy, just like picking on them.
Derka, derka Jihad!!! PC games RULE!!!
