Forums - Sony - GT5 is still 90% finished, says Yamauchi

"GT5 was announced 4 years ago. They claimed they could release it whenever they want to in 2009. They then claimed a March 2010 release"

I think development on the game has been completed by now (I don´t buy the "90% completed" story), and was indeed originally scheduled for sometime before the end of the year, but in light of a likely slim/price cut/Natal combo for the 360, Sony is delaying the game on purpose since it´s their best weapon...it just seems that obvious.

12/28/04 Sony Computer Entertainment Japan release date of GT4
Announced doesn't mean it wasn't in development before that....

OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoO

They've basically been polishing for nearly a year then, he has said this at least once before, last year.

Possibly adding in all the 3D stuff slowed down development?

I dunno...

But it better be out this year. It just better be ¬_¬

The game will definitely come within the year, without a doubt

I honestly don't understand. Alan Wake has been polished for over a year. Do people rant about it? No, no they don't because it looks awesome.
Just wait a bit more for one of the best racing games ever made. Untill then you can buy Blur, Split/Second and Modnation Racers.

I seem to remember that Alan Wake switched engines and Play style to non open world after the "We are just polishing comments"

Suppose the main problem is the ever expected "non official" completion date for GT5 has been pushed further and further back as time has gone on.

This has been a much discussed internet topic since the release of GT5:Prologue 2 and a half years ago.

Frustrations are bound to surface.

Its probably the fucking 3D and move controls that's slowing everything down. Just forget about that shit and release the normal 2D game without motion controls!

They are going to ride the GT wave and milk it as much as possible.

The Move could use the extra push from GT for sure, if that is the case.

I guess without games like GT5 supporting move/3D then they have a less of a chance at succeeding. So yeah I guess its good for Sony but it sucks for everyone waiting on GT5!
