If these numbers are indeed accurate then I was right when I said that the PS3 would be roughly up by about 30% year over year once the short term boost died down. Though given the fact that the 360 is up as well I may be right for the wrong reasons.

Remember this is only the US...

But I also reckoned on 30% for the PS3... but that will dramatically reduce from September.

If 30% is where it sticks for the year to come then come the end of August it will be tracking down around 40% from that point on until the holiday season starts. (unless of course Move or something else changes things).

The U.S. has more accurate sales tracking and we get monthly updates vs who knows when for Europe which makes dealing with the numbers a lot safer without as much tendency to come to the wrong conclusions due to bad data. Though in general I've given up on the weekly numbers and I don't count it as being accurate until at least they are confirmed by NPD/shipments.

But yeah the PS3 will be down YOY and im still pretty confident Sept-Sept is the peak 12month period for the PS3 unless Move, moves.
