Kinda fun toplay through but really a lot of the aspects of the game put me off -- 6.8/10

FFXI -- Not played, looking forward to XIV though.

Was embarrassed to play this in front of friends, and family. Final Fantasy X-2 4/10

Still playing Final Fantasy XI so I give it 8/10

Completely underappreciated gem, and it is my second favorite in the series, superior to its prequel. While the plot isn't as strong as the first game, the characters and their interaction are far superior. The non-linear adventure was very well handled and this game has some of the strongest replayability in the series, if not the strongest. The strong soundtrack also added to the game. Not my favorite soundtrack in the series, but a strong one nevertheless, and the voice acting is several times stronger than the previous game. The gameplay and character advancement were both unique, yet familiar at the same time.  This game is very fun, where it really matters, and is put together very well and highly polished.  It is a great piece of a fanservice, and a wonderful game.

I've sort of boycotted this game... and I debating on whether or not I will boycott FFXIV. I can accept that others may like it as a MMO, but it should not be a member of the main series.

Why?

It is clearly a spin-off with the number used as a marketing ploy.  It would be no different if Nintendo took Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga, for example, and called it Super Mario Bros. 4
