all come to mind with sony platformers , and sure 1 of then is from a 2nd party, but they still own the ip, not all of nintendo's first party is made by 1st party they also have 2nd party devs under hand.

i didn't think of shadow of collossus as a platformer. i saw it as more of a open adventure game

As a platformer junkie, I have to give a shout out to Mario and Sonic, the two icons of the platforming genre. I mean, with games like Super Mario World, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Super Mario Galaxy, and Sonic & Knuckles... it's just a beautiful thing. *sheds tear*

Don't get me wrong, other companies (like Naughty Dog and Rare) have made some darn great platformers too! And it's great to see a resurgence of platformers this generation with WarioLand, A Boy and His Blob, LittleBigPlanet, Ratchet & Clank, de Blob, Klonoa... and of course all of the Sonic and Mario titles. It feels great to be a Platformer fan.

Say whatever you want but the User Generated Content idea was gold, which is why LBP is so fun.

Overall Nintendo wins hands down, followed by Sega, then Sony, then MS.
