Gandhi's face is right about there in the results, so I'm content. I don't beat my wife though, so I'm not 100% Gandhi. . .

Edit: I can't tell, does this make me a Libertarian? What option in the poll would I choose?

@CommonMan - You'd select the third option; both financially and socially leftist.

@Common - That'd put you as being socially left, economically left. I think I put that as 'socialist'?

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Weird, I didn't think I was a fiscal lefty. Huh, well I gotta be what I am I guess. Hmmm.

The political ideology test can reveal some interesting things.

Having said that, much can be influenced merely by how the questions are worded, and how you simply answer it. I've found myself change positions (slightly) having understood how to explain my feelings better, which has resulted in my change from a Ron Paul Paleoconservative, to a more Milton Friedman-esque free market libertarian...The change was about 2 points more libertarian.

Essentially, with being a 'fiscal lefty', you believe in more government involvement in the economy in the form of regulations, and social programmes. Being 'fiscally right' would mean the opposite. Of course, there are various shades in how its influenced.

Im not Lib Dems or Labour, yet according to this they are my closest allies.

I'm not a huge fan of the Political Compass, to be honest.

I'm supposedly closest to Liberal Democrat, but their policies are garbage. I agree with 90% of Conservative policies, and look how far away from me they are!

Well, the thing is, just because you are prescribed to a certain area doesn't mean that you match 100% of your ideologies with people in the same area.

For example, there are a litany of social issues you may hold authoritarian views on, and others you are freer....Someone may feel the exact opposite way on every issue and score the same, simply because the compass does not try to hold one issue above the other (in some situations, AFAIK).

On most social issues, I would think that I am more authoritarian. But I am an atheist, and I believe that same-sex couples should have the same rights as traditional couples, and now suddenly I'm a libertarian >_>

Huh? I've become about two squares more Libertarian in the past two days. Not surprising with the amount of political news in the UK right now, my views are bound to change over the coming weeks.
