Forums - Sony - Impressions of GOW3 (spoilers) and Bayonetta comparison

If a game offers lot of different combo-moves, I usually tend to go with what works best.
So for me atleast there's really no need for all the possible combo-moves in bayonetta. I seem to be doing just fine with smashing triangle and occasionally circle then dodging. More weapons add nice variety to combat though.

Bayonetta is also visually stunning game, but the storyline plain sucks which kinda got me bored before I finished the game.

So far I think Batman: AA has had the best combat-system I've ever seen in a game. It's simple and fluid.

had gow3 been 360 you would be jumping all over the place.

bottom line is gow3 is a much better game, both of them dont compare

combat music grafix overall game gow3 is a much better game much better franchise and much better desirable game to have in collection.

this type of comparison reminds me of imfamous vs prototype, infamous was the better game but certain ppl sided with prototype simply because infamous wasnt on thier system of choice

no matter what you say, you wont change the fact that gow3 is better than bayonetta

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

In that whole post I found nothing that actually backs up the claim, no examples, nothing more than "it's better because it's better, and that's that" cause I could just as easily reverse this and go "But the people that tried to say inFamous was better than Prototype are just mad because they got the inferior version of Prototype and now mad that they got the inferior version of Bayonetta"  Does it add anything to the discussion?  No.  Does it even have a valid point in this thread? No.

I really don't get where you're getting your "facts" from, but please stop trying to force your views as "facts" to others...

People are over reacting in this thread, anyone denying that Bayonetta is a great game should at least try and play it first. Despite what anyone believes the combat is still much better in Bayonetta, GOW 3 wins in every other category.

Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.

Bayonetta's combo system is more fluid. But, graphics aside, the crappy plot, self conciously kitchy j-pop music, the smaller scale of the boss fights, the lame puzzles and the irritatingly stupid camera all fail to stack up to GOWIII. And besides, I wouldn't say more fluid combo system equals a superior one. Killer Instinct had a much more fluid comboing system than SFII, but I wouldn't say it was a better game. GOWIII may offer you fewer combos, but it forces you to know them better, especially on Titan (and especially in that annoying Cerberus breeder / Satyr fight towards the end).

It was very good. I liked the way it stopped you from button bashing by not allowing cancels, and forcing you to live the consequences if two punches into a combo you changed your mind and wanted to counter someone elses attack.

Personally I like the music and story better in Bayonetta too, because it's very humorous and has catchy music, but everything oozes style.

In the end its all really opinion, but some people like to force their opinion on others as truth.  Which yes that is overreacting, I don't get why one group of gamers are pretty chill, wanting to discuss their opinions, but as soon as you say something contrary to another groups opinion that group has to force it down everyones throats, and the chill gamers just don't care and won't fight, usually just leaving the discussion... there's really no call for it.

The music is very good in Bayonetta, I just like the whole epic quire thing in the GOW games

This gen everyone's just on the edge, it's ridiculous, but I think it's mainly because gamers have become much more attached to their specific idea of what a good game is and don't want that idea to change. It's a shame, because it only harms the imagination and idea of developers, it could lead them to think that people won't open up to new things. This is changing though with newer titles like Bayonetta, Heavy Rain, 3D Dot Game Heroes and Deadly Premonition.

I have to give you credit for at least playing GOW3 but We already knew how you felt long ago.

This type of threads, Bayonetta is better GOW3 has lost their charm, it was better before GOW3 was released, now it's just sad.

Eh it's just minorities that used to be the majority fighting against the tides, its actually an old cycle, pretty much like the PC gamers of yore fighting the NES "kids" again, or the NES "kids" fighting the PS "frat boys", just now we're in the era of online so the spats can go on and on between "professionals" on gaming websites!

As for Bayonetta vs GoW, the GoW Score is quite nice, probably one of my favorite things about the game, but I dunno this gen has burned me out on "Epic" thats all its been about since everything went HD.  I just like my catchy tunes that I can dance to if I wanted.  As for story, if God of War was a satire of Greek Myths I would absolutely love it, because it over embellishes a lot of aspects of Greek Lore like the amount of violence and sex involved and over doing some of the lapses in logic while doing absolutely nothing with the typical idea of some sort of lesson, then the game doesn't even follow its own logic well, but its all quite serious and I can't take it, so a humorous story wins hands down for me.
