U could be right I know i am not holding my breath for any serious effort from 3rd parties on the Wii.
But regarding Red Steel 2 there is another example of poor effort and poor programing.
There are 2 things that they focused on in this game and thats upping the graphics and imroving swordplay.
The swordplay is good not great and the focused to much on the visuals so the game is very much lacking.
It´s so obvious that this was made by a B-team its not funny and the only thing saving it is the ok Swordplay, if we had another swordplay game on the wii that was well executed this game would not even be considered good.
Before people start to complain about me here is the big flaws in this game:
Hit detection and collision detection is so poorly executed, at times you get collision detection when there is nothing to collide with and alot of the times you cant hit a bottle in front of you but if you turn your back to it and swing you hit it.
when there is bottles on the ground you do the spin move (which goes from side to side and not up and down) and you hit the bottle even if you aint hitting that low.
You swing on one side of the fence and items on the other side break and there is not collison detection from actually hitting the fence.
Bugs there are lots of bugs, coins just stop up in the air when you shoot the wents that are hight up and you cant get then they are just up there.
At some points when you walk between a railing and a fire all of a sudden you are on the other side of the railing even though its impossible to get through the railing at that point.
You aim at some spots you need to shoot to open them up and even thouigh you are dead on you still miss and other times you shoot way of target put it still counts as a hit.
I can go on and keep on making this list way longer but you get my point.
For me this game is a bad to ok game with poor execution the only thing that makes this game somewhat fun is the ok swordsplay.
The first Redsteel was a good game with alot of bugs but it was a good game at its foundation and this is not.
So all in all I am not suprised that this game isnt showing any good numbers and I really hope it bombs hard especially when you look at the poor programing they put into this game.
But then again it wouldnt suprise me if it has legs and sells anyway because even though its badly made (in my opinion they have been lazy throughout this game except for the graphics) it is still better executed then most 3rd party games on the Wii.
It really pisses me of that they think they can get away with this poor execution and lazy programming.

^Well I completely disagree with you about the swordplay, I think it's fantastic. Very gamey, but extremely fun.
But moreso I don't think they were lazy at all, it's been in development for ages, I just think they focussed a lot of energy on things that don't add to the game at all, like cut scenes and a really annoying QTE sequence.
Honestly in spite of some of the bad design decisions I'm having a blast just moving from swordfight to swordfight.

I am having fun with the sword play too but thats about it and there is so much more in this game that could have been used to enhance the gameplay.
Of course they were lazy when they bother with hit&collision detections at some places but not others they focused on other things instead of imroving those.
Just because we can have fun with the game it doesnt excuse the massive errors in it and expecting to sell as an AAA game or saying they put AAA effort in this game when obviously they didnt and u cant deny that it isnt obvious that this game clearly shows that it is done by a less skilled team then the their normal efforts wich also explains the long development time and the ammount of flaws in the game despite that long development time. If they had put any of their regular teams on this there wouldn have been so massive flaws.

^ I agree, except that a really fun game should sell in spite of it's flaws. You've mentioned a lot of little niggles with the game, but from what I've seen most people who play it still have a blast and it's even consistently fun. Just Dance is also highly flawed but it sells because in spite of that, it's just so much damn fun.
And really, if it were these things that were causing the sales we'd see it in later sales, not the first week. The little issues you've brought up are things you would only realize once you've been playing the game for a while, so it's not something that would kill sales in the first two days.

I am at the end of the first playthrough and theese things anoy the shit out of me, ordinary I would agree with you but they themselves went out to say how big of an effort they have put into this game and i was expecting an AAA game with lots of fun and instead its barely an A game with lots of fun.
I guess I am dissapointed that they cant give the same effort they give to HD consoles and their games and I was fully expecting that this would be that kind of effort.
Also I wouldnt mind about those flaws if they were here and there but they arent, in every small area u get into they are several of them and since they are so many areas you just get bombarded with theese flaws wich were common 10-15 years ago and shouldn be this common as it is in this game today.

So are America numbers...PS3 outsold 360 there too...

well we know that these type of games aren't huge sellers, but i don't think it helps that they are all so highly priced ROF,WKC etc infact most of the JRPG's are at £40 and some £45,i want them but won't buy them at that price
same goes for heavy rain still £45 in the main shops £40 in blockies which have the best deals if you ask me,so very good heavy rain sales i think,
most people will buy pre-owned of these games they should sell them for lower and sell more,
the action games like darksiders, bayonetta etc are at £20 already in most places brand new
incidentally,i may aswell tell you darth, but the FF bundle PS3's we're all sold out in my town, well in gamestation and game anyway and there we're no 120gb to be found brand new in stock this week when i was in town in both retailers so i think shortages are true for the PS3,
all specials bundles sold out,all 120gb sold out and only the 250gb + 2games was in stock that was in gamestatin and game the main shops on the high street

actually, I didn't. Considering the extra foul language tacked on the end, I took it as an attack at both Americans for "not supporting the game" and at anyone who didn't think it would sell that well.
A simple misunderstanding, and I'll leave it at that. The game is selling extremely well for the type of game it is.
