For example, I've seen some post about being capable to see things around corners moving the head...I personally think this is not the case, I had the chance to try the Nvidia 3D vision on PC, it has got nothing like that, It just added depht in the image....but still we don't know if the tecnology behind 3ds works in the same way. |
With the use of head tracking (already working on the DSi), it will be very possible to 'look around corners.' Without it, I suspect you're right and the display will simply add depth. Of course, for all I know, the 3DS's display will have a restrictive viewing angle that prevents effective head tracking.
Whether that's a huge deal in gameplay terms... we probably won't know until somebody goes out, does it, and does it properly.
It's kinda too bad that the OP is correct about the 3DS being more successful than 3D in the living room. I see a lot more value in creating that 3D immersion on a big screen than on a handheld, but the steep barriers are going to make it tough. It's not just a matter of getting 3D TVs out there. Those TVs need to project a 3D image to multiple people at multiple viewing angles simultaneously, which is a technical challenge that a 3D display on a handheld doesn't face.
