Hello all.

I think that Nintendo's inclusion of 3D in its next DS was quite possibly a masterstroke. Why? Well, it's in the screens. Literally. The main barrier to adoption of 3D is the price of the TV sets. No matter how amazing PS3 3D gaming is, Sony cannot possibly get everyone on board. When you buy a handheld though, you buy a screen (or two). Putting 3D on a handheld means that every buyer has access to the 3D capabilities of the system, which also means that you can make the 3D integral to the game experience without alienating any player. Zelda 3D puzzles can take full advantage of the added dimension, for example.

I discuss this in my latest blog post:
