Forums - Nintendo - When will Nintendo release a quality flying game for the Wii?

Wii Sports Resort established a pretty good flying formula.  The Island flyover controls are really fun, save for the acceleration command (which involves repetitively punching the Wiimote forward).  My friends and I love playing the dogfight mode as well, but we agree that the charm wears off after a few rounds because there isn't enough complexity in the game.

I am really waiting for a Nintendo flyer that uses Motion Plus and has online multiplayer dogfighting. StarFox would seem to be the ideal choice, but we haven't heard anything about this.

Is there any game on the horizon that will achieve the vision set forth by Wii Sports Resort flying?

The fact that there is no Pilotwings on the Wii is a crime, as the Wii Remote and Nunchuk are tailor made for flight sim games... Star Fox is more of an arcade shooter than a flight sim game, same thing with Rogue Squadron, but we know that'll never happen now that Factor 5 is defunct.

The only halfway decent flight game that I know of on the Wii is Sky Crawlers: Innocent Aces, which is made by the same people behind the Ace Combat series.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

they'll release one when you go back in time and stop factor 5 from loosing all their money so that they can finish pilotwings

Well we all remember that Pilotwings tech demo from E3 2006....that's never going to happen.

I wish I had a time machine cuz I'd sooo do that!  Let's see... should we make a sequel to a tried and true franchise like Rogue Squadron or Pilotwings... OR... dump all our development funds into a game for a system that was selling at a snail's pace (at the time) and tack horrible gimicky motion controls onto it, thereby breaking the gameplay???  What the hell were they thinking!

And I'd make a stop over at Free Radical too and tell them to chuck everything Haze-related into the dumpster and get cracking on Timesplitters 4 and  Star Wars: Battlefront 3!

OFF TOPIC:

This reminds me of WARHAWK, uses perfect motion controlls for flying and dogfights.. sounds like a game for you.

Seems we have very similar thoughts. but mentioning this game, the greatest tragedy the industry has ever faced makes me cry :(

It wasn't really factor 5's fault they worke don the PS3, they just assumed nintendo could go the same power route and so adjusted their tools accordingly, kinda left them in the lurch
