I just tried searching now, and my area is now dried up.

Why do you bring the wii into this? Nobody is comparing it to the wii, you are the one trying to show that you think the shortage statement isn't true with your quotations.

Well i feel bad for those costumers that really wanted a PS3 cause there's way too many in my area.  DS is still a beast tho.

Sony is really missing the boat with the release of GoW III and Heavy Rain. Two well rated games and console sales are going down. Shortages or not the console sales opportunities are gone.

And with SC: Conviction, Alan Wake, Crackdown 2, and Halo: Reach shipping vs. ModNation Racers over the next six months. Not to Mention Game Room, a probable 360 dashboard update, and Summer of Arcade releases for 360. And the probable price drop in August/September, Sony may have difficulty holding momentum.

This is just BAD SONY, BAD.

ATLEAST GOW3 is a PS3 exclusive....so the people who were planning to buya PS3 for it will buy one for it eventually, maybe next week if not this one.

But I still believe many people got 360's instead of PS3's for FF13 due to PS3 shortages last week.

Either way its bad, SONY hav acknowledged shortages since late Jan (I think)....how hard was it to have make enough PS3's to meet demand in the month of FF & GOW?!

Can we not compare things in this world anymore? I'm sorry your feelings are hurt because I brought up the Wii. This is the NA sales thread, I can talk about the Wii if I want.

My point was clearly that PS3 shortages aren't nearly as bad as the Wii shortages were and that until this week (which ioi confirmed) hasn't really hurt overall sales. I used e-bay as a point that the PS3 shortages weren't as bad. I never said PS3's weren't hard to find which constitutes a "shortage" as supply is limited. However, if you wanted a PS3 you could find a PS3. The same wasn't true a few years ago for Wii.
