Is it complex?

Then I don't like it.

No, it's simple and elegant.

It is?

Well, that was a pleasant surprise.

how is it compared to FFVIII?

Oh, it kicks FFVIII in the pussy.  Despite my minor complaints, I love it immensly.  The only battle system I like more is Grandia II and I haven't played that game in almost a decade.  If I went back and played it, my mind will probably be changed.

lol FF8 had far better use for summons though!

I know what you mean.  I haven't touched Mass Effect 2 since I got FF13.  And a ton of other games including Assassins Creed 2 and GTA Episodes from Liberty City are totally ignored, too.  FF13 is RPG crack.

I don't see any summons in FFVIII turning into a horse and letting you ride them, do you?  But yeah.  FF8 (and FFX if I remember correctly) had some kick ass timing based summons.  I can't remember jack about FF9.  Old age, I guess.

lol FF13 summons are MUUUUCH BETTERRRRR in looks & the GESTALT thing

BUT I used to spam GF's in every battle in FF8

in FF13 the summons seem really underpowered to me

I LOVE to see the summon animations.....but I just never bother using em :(

If there's one, ONE thing that pisses me off is how it constantly reuses names from other FFs!

Cid, the Lindblum, Eidolons, Odin, Shiva....

I guess it's not that annoying, it feels like a tradition, but HONESTLY.

What I didn't like about the FFVIII summos was that I had like 2 of them in the beginning and they were really powerful. I was like "How can a low level SeeD recruit have these huge monsters? O_O" It felt out of place in the beginning. But spamming them was fun, that's how I fought every battle.

I LOVE ICELAND!

I completely agree with this thread. FFXIII's battle system is miles ahead of any other RPG I've ever played.

Are you my opposite? o.O

I had those as well just sitting there until I beat XIII. Lol.

I still can't stop playing it! I played God of War 3 for about 20-30 minutes on release day, and I kept thinking...if only I could see the damage I do(like 99999 damage chains I do with Fang) so I went back to playing Final Fantasy XIII. And Resonance of Fate is still in the shrinkwrap...I'm just killing random stuff in XIII and still having fun!

Odd. Future. Wolf. Gang. Kill. Em. All. OFWGKTA Don't give a fuck!

Fuck Steve Harvey. FREE EARL!

Final Fantasy Versus XIII will be the GREATEST game EVER made!!!

I'd take a bullet for Square-Enix!

I disagree, i find XIIIs combat system to be boring and repetitive.
I do not like the fact that i only control 1 character, i dont like the fact that if the leader dies the rest automatically dies, i dont like the class system.

Basically i find the AI of your partymembers to be too retarded, deciding to cast esuna to get rid of slow instead of healing the guy at 5% health, and when i go control the medic myself, the other members usually use questionable spells/abilities.

i agree with those who mentioned the combat system of the Grandia games, now that is a system that works and is fun.

oh and btw, i have beaten FF13 so don't come saying i haven't played it enough.
