New God of War game announcement coming soon?
So you thought this was it for God of War? Well, think again. Having milked the game dry after 3 simultaneous playthroughs, I thought it would be fun to go for the platinum trophy. Imagine my surprise, after having unlocked the Platinum trophy, when I noticed a website address in my Platinum trophy information.
Spartans Stand Tall? Hmm? Whatever could that mean? Unfortunately checking out the site has still not answered the many questions that have been haunting me due to this little bit of information. The site shows a sea in storm, with rain pouring down as lightning and thunder pepper the scene. The interesting thing is the rock formation on the bottom left of the screen and the spartan shield with a mysterious insignia on the top right of the screen.
The shield seems to be split into 4 different parts, separated by what is most definitely looks like spartan helmets. One quarter of the shield already seems to be filled by blood and is slowly increasing in a clockwise manner. The whole shield itself is chained to another Spartan helmet which is below the shield. More mystery surrounds the insignia on the shield which looks like an inverted V. Now there could be many different meaning to this. For one, the insignia resembles the Arabic numeral character for the number 8. Close to the money though, the fact that the inverted V sign means different things in different countries. Here are some of them:
Australia - grave insult
Greece - Two.
Japan - Common sign used that is intended to portray an acceptable level of cuteness when posing for photographs.
United Kingdom - grave insult
USA - Peace. Palm-facing-inward is more ”hip-hop”.
It does not take a genius to figure out that the Greek meaning of the inverted V is most prominent here. Two…while I have no idea what this could mean, it most definitely signals that there is more to this than meets the eye. People following the God of War series will remember a similar teaser site released after God of War 2 which eventually became the announcement of God of War: Chains of Olympus. . I have reason to believe that the blood will slowly fill all quarters of the shield in the coming days and then we will know the true nature of this discovery.
All we can do now is speculate. And something like can only mean there is something BIG coming our way…soon.
