Edge is strict, and I like that. What I don't like about it is that they are strict for the wrong reasons. They are amazingly biased.

Ofcourse there has to be some above and below the average, but the problem here is that the Xbox exclusives are pretty much on par with their Metacritics, or close to, while PS3 exclusives are good deal below and it seems to make a trend.

I wouldn't consider it a problem, if both were either higher or lower, but there is a significant difference between these two. The difference is the problem, not the fact that some are above and some below.

The point is that EDGE is rating PS3 exclusives with bigger difference than XBox exclusives COMPARED to industry standart. It's like saying that Xbox games are better because EDGE "agrees" with the whole industry, but PS3 games are worse, because EDGE is "off" the industry standart. That makes absolutly no sense whatsoever.

Also bias is universal, there is noone and nothing completly unbiased, because bias is a part of underlying social structure affected by many factors which can't be empiricali studyied. There is a whole science which is trying to find these non-visible functions, called Structuralism. Noone is unbiased, therefore the question is:

How much biased you are?

Nice try, turning the bias claim towards me. Actually I am pretty unbiased is this case, cause I don't care for either of the 2 systems. 

Apart from that: You're absolutely right, everybody is "biased". EDGE's job is to give their opinion on the games they test. All I was trying to say is this:
Even if they DO think that Xbox games are better than Playstation games on average, that's a legitimate result. I think it's a plague that people started comparing every review score to the Metacritic average, labeling those 'wrong' who differ. If you don't allow a magazine to have their opinion, why bother reading them? 

I'm not turning the bias towards you, I was just trying to point out my thought in a public speech figure.

And again, if they think that Xbox games are on average tier of quality above PS3 games, than that's a negative bias towards the PS3. There is no way to justify it or explain it. The only option is that they either prefer the Xbox significantly, or they are using double meter.

Instead of making such a long thread you could've just learned that Edge actually judge on a 1-10 scale instead of 6-10.

It might not be perfect, but you can still garner an interesting perspective from it.

Also, restricting it to the top 30 exclusive games may well not be giving it enough of a sample size, but it's also restricting it to the most influential exclusive games that probably sell the most and define the given platform. Add in the ones some are complaining are missing and the results change little to none.

You'd need stronger evidence then that to call Edge out on an inherent bias. But it's enough to show that in general, they score the top 360 exclusives closer to the average score, and the top PS3 exclusives below it.

So what if they haven't given any game on the PS3 a 10? A 8 is a great game, even moreso when it comes from Edge.
