Microsoft doesn't need a price cut to beat Sony in sales on the way to Q4....their top AAA titles are launching Q4 against only one top Sony title. A price cut would bury Sony for the rest of the year.

GT5 little impact
360 Arcade $149.99
360 Elite 250GB with Natal $299.99
PS3 250GB $299.99
Q4 ends up very much like 2008
Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

I think we need to see the final lineups before we start making comments like that

Resistance 3 will likely be out in the Fall, but it will be overshadowed by another CoD entry, just like R2.
Currently playing on PS3: God of War III
Currently playing on Xbox360: Final Fantasy XIII
Currently playing on NDS: Chrono Trigger
Sony has enough AAA ip this year to establish significant interest for the ps3..
the fact it is supply constrained in the U.S, and still outselling the 360 by 40-60k World wide a week, is very impressive..

Halo Reach is going to be selling Xbox 360's from September through next year and Fable 3 is capping the year off. the middle of the year is dominated with three 360 AAA's in Splinter Cell in April, Alan Wake is n May and Crackdown 2 is in June. Mass Effect already owned January. I forgot to even mention Natal. Sony only has (in truth when we are talking about heavy hitters) GOW3, GT5 and move this year....unless they have a really good E3. I cannot wait to see what they and Sony and Microsoft have to say about capping off the year having invested in both of their systems.
If Natal is a hit, and they do a price drop then I could definitely see that happening.
Probably not... You've got like 4 differences like Natal, Wand + Upchuck and whatever price cuts are made/bundles etc along with any possibilities of a slim console. Whereas before it was all about price-cuts.
Do you know what its like to live on the far side of Uranus?
I just can't see a substantial price cut happening...especially if Natal is bundled. Maybe by $30? Doubt that will make a difference. Their biggest sales might come with Reach and Natal tho. However their rivals have some heavy hitters too. People shouldn't underestimate GT5, that game is gonna be a HUGE system seller. I will wait until E3 to do a final verdict as we have not seen all games releasing this year still

Seriously....who in the world would underestimate GT5? Mario Galaxy 2 is going to destroy GT5 in sales though.
