Forums - Nintendo - Why can't Nintendo just sue Sony for imitation?

The sixaxis use is not like a motion control itself was in a wii game, much more like and additive for the gameplay which could be done by mapping it to buttons.

The games that support motion on the sixaxis, are just for the sake of it.

Whether adults would like to play or not motion controled games on PS3 is yet to be seen, imo.

not supper rub a dub http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Rub_%27a%27_Dub or folklore one of the games is sixaxis only other than start and the other has sixaxis as a vital part of the game.  There are others some not very good (Lair)  So not all games are just add ons but sadly most of them that have used it have been. Uncharted had one part that was an add on that didn't add much to the game.  Ratchet and clank future tools of destruction also had some use of the sixaxis but it was done well and didn't feel just like an add on.

Adults already have used some motion control games on the ps3 just not beyond the limits of the sixaxis.

@ weretikken

That technical explanation sure is a fine spin to describe what is not quite an analog controller and more of a primitively-evolved directional stick.

I see we're not getting to an agreement here. I just accept your opinion but I'll stick with mine, and thanks for posting anyway, your posts while not agreeing with mine are very polite and informative.

Exactly the opposite as some users around.

@ wonktonodi

I know those games, and I even like the ducks game, but their alone in the sea of regular controlled games, so assuming that PS3 is a platform were adults play with motion is almost wrong. Just like the wii "doesn't have" camera controlled games despite the existence of that Fitness Game (don't remember the name) and Racquet Sports, both from Ubisoft.

The grenade sixaxis motion throw in Uncharted is pretty clever and well done, I beat the gamr actually and that was a fine mechanic, but again, it could be mapped to the analog sitck.

I won't keep harping on this, as the original post was about a different issue. But a technical explanation is not a "spin".

The definition of what is an analog input and an analog stick are not opinions. They are technical definitions.

And the 5200 controller was an analog stick, because there's no middle land between analog and digital. Either you're analogic or you're not. And according to wikipedia so were other console controllers, one of them by Sony, predating the N64 one. And even home computers used analog controllers for gaming in the same time frame.

You can stick to your opinion, just as you can stick to your opinion that the moon is made of cheese. Not all opinions are equally relevant or factually substantiated, though. And not agreeing with factual data makes little sense.

So the new Sony controller, MOVE was announced, and there IS NO type of nunchuck device for it. As expected, when there is no source, there is no announcement.

NINTENDO did influence them in making it a gaming peripheral, I am sure they didn't intend on releasing "PS ARC" yet anyway..
