i never sync, ps3 does it for me O.o

I'm with you on this, twesterm. It's completely insane to me that you have to manually synch trophies, and that it is impossible to get an auto-updating trophy card without paying for it. Maybe I'm lazy, but so is Sony for not implementing such a basic feature, and at least Sony isn't paying me anything, so I feel like my laziness, unlike theirs, is excusable.

And, for the record, I sold my Xbox 360 and only play PS3 games (HD wise), so any fanboy arguments are completely ridiculous. I like what Sony offers, I like their free online, I like their games, but the way PSN and the entire XMB was set up is complete trash.

obviously their service is inferior to xbox live seeing as it's newer. things become better as they're reviewed and improved, something like this was overlooked and will eventually be fixed but to say

"Anyone who really defends Sony on this are just delusional and refuse to admit Sony can do any wrong."

cmon, as if this problem is a huge deal. what i find odd is that you care enough to collect the damn trophies, yet you don't care enough to ever take a look at them and hence cause them to sync

some people have no real idea how the ps3 works. (spenderzz) You dont have to pay for an auto updating card. (https://secure.eu.playstation.com/sign-in/?reason=noAuth&t=/psn/mypsn/A) and even playfire which you have in your sig is free...

As I've said countless times, I don't admire them on my PS3, I admire them in places like my sig.  That's where I like to look at and compare things.

When I'm done playing the game for the night, I should be thinking well that was a fun game, time to go do x instead of well that was a fun game, time to go sync my trophies.

And yeah, people defending Sony are delusional because it's a super obvious flaw.  It's not a huge one in the grand scheme of things, but it is an inconvenience.

Yeah, I mean... it's like trying to defend Nintendo for not having online demos... or Microsoft for charging people for updates preventing Valve from giving patches.

You probably wasted more time ranting about this than you ever will syncing trophies in your whole life.

Yet, weirdly enough this waste of time doesn't bother you...........

There's a fine line between flaw and simple a design decision.

Having to manually sync trophies is a flawed design decions, Nintendo not having online demos is them focusing on fun in the living room and not-so much online.  MS charging for updates is how they want to make money.  Sony not letting trophies auto-syn is laziness.

Yes, Playfire is free, but even though they say it is auto-updating, their interpretation of "auto" is questionable at best.  For the card to update, you have to go to the uk playstation site and manually refresh your PSN ID info, at which point the card updates itself.  So it "automatically" updates in that I don't have to go to playfire's site to use it, but it does not automatically update in any real sense because it requires effort from me.  Compare this to the 360 gamercards, where you put it in your sig, and it automatically updates constantly every single time you get a trophy.  The only time you have to open a website is if you want to change the format on the card.
