Yes, Playfire is free, but even though they say it is auto-updating, their interpretation of "auto" is questionable at best. For the card to update, you have to go to the uk playstation site and manually refresh your PSN ID info, at which point the card updates itself. So it "automatically" updates in that I don't have to go to playfire's site to use it, but it does not automatically update in any real sense because it requires effort from me. Compare this to the 360 gamercards, where you put it in your sig, and it automatically updates constantly every single time you get a trophy. The only time you have to open a website is if you want to change the format on the card.
