No, not really.
Now that Nintendo is publishing Dragon Quest IX, are you interested in it?
Yes | 51 | 66.23% | |
Nah | 16 | 20.78% | |
I want it even less now! | 4 | 5.19%
What's Dragon Quest? | 6 | 7.79%
Total: | 77 |
Why does it matter who the publisher is??? It wont change the game?
This is the DS one, right? Then no, I'm not really interested. I'm pretty sure that DQ X is coming to the Wii though. I am somewhat interested in that one.

what does nintendo publishing have anythign to do with it? I wanted the game big time before and still do. Who publishes it means absolutely nothing. Its like a book publisher, who gives a shit who the publisher is. I will buy a book if i know i like the author, not OMG so and so publishes the book.

If I may ask, what's wrong with a DS game vs a Wii game? Just because its on a handheld?
I don't want to single you out specifically, especially if that's not your reason, but I find a lot of people on thisforum seem to automatically have a negative view of certain games because they're on handhelds, or just handheld games in general. And considering this game is pretty much one of the highest budget and biggest DS games made yet, I would think it should at least warrant a try before people discount it completely.

First, the DS in my household is technically my girlfriend's. I bought it for her as a gift. So while I have access to it, it is not like I can take it with my whenever I want. I've also tried to keep myself from buying games just for me. I got her interested in Scribblenauts so I could play it too, but I don't see her being interested in a RPG. Second, even when I was younger I used my handhelds at home more than anywhere else. At this point in my life, I don't have a need for gaming on the go, so that ratio is even more in favor of home gaming. So why not just game on a home console with a TV?
There are still some experiences you can't get anywhere but a handheld though. It is why I still have one.

You should get a 2nd DS, 2 copies of DQIX, and co-op together. Perfect date game.
Being that its was Square/Enix BIGGEST selling game this gen and I'm a fan of the DQ series, I was purchasing this game day one. Now with Nintendo on for publishing means the wifi service will be up to speed since square has nothing dedicated out side thier FF online series and UGH, I think its gonna cost $40 retail. Well worth the price for fans old and new to the series. Plus it outsold all the other RPG drivel thats came out on those low selling HD systems. DS Rules!!!
Regardless, this will be a day-one purchase for me. I've been waiting for this game to be localized for a while now. Huge DQ fan, here!

I am thinking about getting a second DS at some point. Likely some version of the DSi.
Perfect date game? No, not even close.
