There is no way Bad Company is greater than BF2 or BF2142.

Granted, I have to admit I have always felt PC FPS is by far greater than console FPS. Better controls, better online, better gameplay etc.

My rating would have to be:

BF2 > BF1942 > BF2142 > BFV > BF2MC > BF1943 > BFBC > BFH

My rating is on overall gameplay and options including maps size/style, controls, unit types/vehicles, multiplayer, and graphical quality.

The console games have always been massively stripped down in what even BF1942 could do. BFBC2 is the first to actually add big features with the destruction, which will be far better and immersive in BF3. I would expect to possibly be better than BFV, but that is actually with the PC version of the game which has better options and controls than the console versions anyways.

I mean using apples vs apples, look at how you rated the BF2 against the BF2 modern combat. You clearly recognized that the PC version was far superior. Same will be with BFBC2 and the eventual BF3 which will take all the great features of BFBC2 and mutliply it by 10.

We'll be back to large maps with great squad gameplay options and tons of fighters; all blessed with more precise and overall better PC controls.

BF2142 is basically a modded BF2 with some new elements in weaponry and units. I find it very good overall.

The only disgrace is Bad Company and Heroes and how they are nothing like BF beyond name.

BFBC2 brings the consoles back to a good BF experience with only less players.

I don't see why you guys keep saying elitism. I think in regards to FPS (and strategy games like C&C or Civilization) a PC is by far the better environment. That's not being an elitist. An elitist would say the PC is better for anything and everything and anyone who plays on consoles is trash. However, that is categorically wrong in every way.

OT: BF3 will take the good improvements in BFBC2 (destruction, better pack types, new gameplay options) and optimize/expand those to the premier BF experience which has always been found in the PC versions of the game.

Difference here is that they have split into two areas of interest... the PC and console threads.

They haven't put out a PC version a LOOOOOOONG time. Bad Company 2 is a console built game for consoles first with a PC version to get the userbase ready for a full PC version with the new Frostbite engine.

I'd bet BF3 will come by end of year.

BF2142 really is a modded BF2. A mediocre one and EA + DICE even want your money for it. There are far better free BF2 mods out there.

You really seem to think that Bad Company 2 is nothing like Bad Company 1 LOOOOL. They are VERY similar.

The PC is a better environment for FPS, but that doesn't mean that a PC FPS is automatically "10 times better " (your own words) than a console FPS.

In fact I know a lot of console/multiplat FPS that are better than many many PC exclusive first person shooters.

And I'm sure that BF3 will be better than Bad Company 2. Because BC2 will release in 2 weeks and BF3 some time next year, if we're lucky.

I understand what you mean by close launches, but they are different platforms and the PC platform hasn't had a BF game since 2006.

So, while BFBC2 might be the solution for the PC crowd, I think its just an appetizer. They wanted a full Console game as that's where the best money is to really push the latest and greatest frostbite engine. Then, they'll take the feedback and finalize the BF3 that they have already started.

I still think its a holiday 2010 game.

IF I'm wrong, no biggie. I have plenty of games to play and I may just get BFBC2 on PC. idk, I have a ton of other games I want to play right now and barely have time for that. BUt, I want to be properly ready for BF3 and this is the game to do it with.

ok, you're right, bad company wasn't as bad as I portray it as. However, its still worse than any of the PC versions. Vietnam is the only arguable exception. I liked BF2142, still play it.

As for this "The PC is a better environment for FPS", we agree, and of course you can cherry pick examples where a console game is better than PC, especially in multiplats where it was built for consoles and the PC version is gimped. Plus, my 10x better comment is obviously an exageration. However, BF3 will be a far better game and I really think its coming out sooner that some of you think.
