Unless Battlefield 3 is not set in modern times then they aren't going to release another BF game anytime soon.  Even then the closest time after one games release is 15 months (BF2 after Vietnam...but Vietnam wasn't very popular, hence no expansions released for it).

 

BF2--->2142 was 18 months I think, and 2142 was drastically different.

Difference here is that they have split into two areas of interest... the PC and console threads.

They haven't put out a PC version a LOOOOOOONG time. Bad Company 2 is a console built game for consoles first with a PC version to get the userbase ready for a full PC version with the new Frostbite engine.

I'd bet BF3 will come by end of year.

 

I mean no offence when I say I think you are bonkers.  They would be pulling a Call of Duty, or even worse in fact.   Not something that they will do.

I understand what you mean by close launches, but they are different platforms and the PC platform hasn't had a BF game since 2006.

So, while BFBC2 might be the solution for the PC crowd, I think its just an appetizer. They wanted a full Console game as that's where the best money is to really push the latest and greatest frostbite engine. Then, they'll take the feedback and finalize the BF3 that they have already started.

I still think its a holiday 2010 game.

IF I'm wrong, no biggie. I have plenty of games to play and I may just get BFBC2 on PC. idk, I have a ton of other games I want to play right now and barely have time for that. BUt, I want to be properly ready for BF3 and this is the game to do it with.
