it was the iSupply installed base forcast chart. This spawned tons of hilarious posts/threads.
Recently a Sony exec said they had sold 31 million and so many people thought he meant shipped only to quickly be proven wrong by the official shipped numbers. Now when someone says "about 30 million" we ignore that previous statement and assume that this is the number of consoles sold to consumers? My advice is to not expect big changes to the numbers based off a single statement by some guy at the company that is by no means definitive.

Nobody here know the "approximately" word mean, not exactly, could be 32 millions could be 29 million then thats the answer.

I stand corrected, though I had never heard it used that way, and I do think it's not the normal use of the phrase.
