Probably gonna get it.
Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Soonerman said: Come on 360 supporters! Let's show we're proud future owners of Final Fantasy 13 for Xbox 360. And yes, let's be proud to get up every 20 hours to swap the disc! I ordered the Xbox 360 FF 13 bundle from Amazon and will be getting on release date! |
You have just made my day. If I owned a Xbox360, I would have gone out an pre-order it right now.

Because it isn't an actual accomplishment. I can understand if someone were proud of a car purchase after having thoroughly researched and tested several models, having to make an educated choice; or even perhaps of saving enough money to purchase Final Fantasy XIII. I'm not sure, however, how one could derive self worth from simply choosing to buy the game on a preferred system. It's not as if it's difficult to trudge your way through the challenging fields of the VGChartz forums, surviving the flame wars and ultimately buying Final Fantasy XIII for Xbox 360. I think sometimes, some of us take this stuff way too seriously. Anyhow, on topic: It's becoming more and more likely that I may be buying this on 360. Seeing as I'm buying this as soon as my local Wal-Mart gets it and that store tends to, for some reason or another, get 360 games slightly earlier, that will likely be the case. If they release simultaneously, I may get it on PS3 if for no other reason than it may look nicer in my collection. |
Well, basically I'm understanding that I should not be excited about anything in my life if it is not an accomplishment. If that's the case then why should I get excited about my school winning football games since it wasn't my accomplishment? Or how about this, I should not get excited about getting an perfect score in my first exam in class because there's 10 more exams to be taken and I haven't accomplish passing the class yet.
I am proud of owning a product and I'm proud it's on my system of choice. There's nothing wrong with that. Yes, I agree, this place can be a flame bait war. The main reason for this thread is that we don't care if we get the "inferior" version as many fans of that other console claim. We're happy and we're not ashame to show it!

That'd be great!

No one said that it is silly to be excited. You've every right to be excited. Saying you're proud, however, simply doesn't make sense. If that's the case then why should I get excited about my school winning football games since it wasn't my accomplishment? - Sure. It's natural to get excited. I love the Montreal Canadiens and get extremely excited when they win. I am not proud of myself for cheering for them though. I've done nothing to contribute to their win. If I were on the team, sure - that's something to be proud of. Or how about this, I should not get excited about getting an perfect score in my first exam in class because there's 10 more exams to be taken and I haven't accomplish passing the class yet. - Scoring a great mark on a test is something to be proud of. It's and accomlishment, something on which to measure your self worth. Huge difference between being excited and being proud. I am proud of owning a product and I'm proud it's on my system of choice. Well if I do pick it up it will be for the 360 since I don't have a PS3. But I'm still on the fence, from the reviews I have read it sounds like it is an average JRPG and there are lot of other games out there that sound better. If I need my JRPG fix I can always pick up LO again.
I'll wait for reviews, but if I get it, it'll be on the X360 since I don't have a PS3 anymore.
As for the ones saying "why is this so important", I think X360 users should support this game if they want future titles from square enix to be released on the X360 and not only on the PS3. If they don't get the sales they expect, they might drop the X360 altogether. If this one sells good enough, they might even make other FF titles multi-plats that until now are still PS3 exclusive.
