Well, basically I'm understanding that I should not be excited about anything in my life if it is not an accomplishment.

- I honestly have no idea what excitement has to do with pride in this ontext. No one said that it is silly to be excited. You've every right to be excited. Saying you're proud, however, simply doesn't make sense.

If that's the case then why should I get excited about my school winning football games since it wasn't my accomplishment?

- Sure. It's natural to get excited. I love the Montreal Canadiens and get extremely excited when they win. I am not proud of myself for cheering for them though. I've done nothing to contribute to their win. If I were on the team, sure - that's something to be proud of.

Or how about this, I should not get excited about getting an perfect score in my first exam in class because there's 10 more exams to be taken and I haven't accomplish passing the class yet.

- Scoring a great mark on a test is something to be proud of. It's and accomlishment, something on which to measure your self worth. Huge difference between being excited and being proud.

I am proud of owning a product and I'm proud it's on my system of choice. There's nothing wrong with that. Yes, I agree, this place can be a flame bait war. The main reason for this thread is that we don't care if we get the "inferior" version as many fans of that other console claim. We're happy and we're not ashame to show it!

There's a difference between being proud of something and simply being excited.
