All my friends had it and were good at Halo, so I decided to try it out and i got better at playing it. So I could eventually play with them but also enjoyed GTA 4, MW2, AC, as well as recently ME2.

Xbox live is just awesome and I bought the arcade for only $200 and picked up an extra harddrive and vga cables for cheap. Also got a headset that is better then the original one that comes with the elite.

Games, Oblivion and COD 2 looked much better than anything on the black box. What was the alternative? Coneheads on the PS2? Happy I did, especially this year.

Which was my point. How else do you buy a 360 from a store if you don't stand in the right place? Unless you're in Heavy Rain universe with backwards controls, generally pointing yourself in the right direction is easy.

Ok. It was the "walked away" part that confused me.

Xbox Premium with Halo 3, Forza 2 with extra controller and Dead Rising for 270 GBP.

The PS3 had just launched and was 425 GBP with no games !

It didnt take a lot of thinking about back then.

Halo, Fable, a few other exclusives, a few multiplats, and Xbox Live (mainly for XBL Arcade). I don't regret it one bit.
