Forums - Sony Discussion - I think i am going to buy Heavy Rain

It is finally a new game. It is not like a fps you get every month. Games like these come out may be once or twice a year. I dont think a game like heavy rain ever came out. Also the acton is really cool to. I hope this game does really well. This game shows tht a game does not have to be a fps in order for it to be good. Are any of you going to buy this?

Also does anyone know how much this game cost to make.

It will be expensive and probably won't make any more... but at least what we are getting seems to be great

Hopefully it will do well just for the fact need encouragement for these types of games.

I don't get this recent logic that all of gaming consists of FPS and Heavy Rain. Heavy Rain isn't the only non-FPS in the world.

I wasn't trying to say hevay rain was the only different game out there. What i am saying is that the most successful games are always shooters now.

you should keep thinking, it seems to give you good idea's :)

Currently playing: MAG, Heavy Rain, Infamous

Getting Plat trophies for: Heavy Rain, Infamous, RE5,  Burnout and GOW collection once I get it.

I'm going to buy Heavy Rain..... and tons of shooter afterwards

My estimate is $25 million based on 4 years of development by a team of 60 people on average (Quantic Dream). Their team size has varied between 40-80 people in the last few years.

So, $25 million dev cost (not including marketing expenses, which certainly is at least another $5-10 mill) means Heavy Rain needs to sell well over 1 million copies to break even.
