I think GT5 but it will take a while to get there. The top racing game since the PS1 will kind of be a default purchase for most people this gen.

Modern Warfare 2 will remain the biggest game launch of this generation. Only something in next gen can top it.

no game this year will be able to do that.
Halo Reach might (even that is IMO a bit unlikely) be able to do 5m+ first week, so it would beat the 360 version of MW2.

Halo Reach if ANY of those. I think Reach has a slim chance at all for that matter.

GoW3 - HAHA
GT5 - GT's are never huge launchers. Big Launches but bearly touches are Gears 2 launch. They always sell with great legs.
FFXIII - This game will struggle to hit 8M on both consoles LIFETIME if you ask me.

You need to look at titles like the Next GTA or IW COD.

None of those games has a chance in hell.
First, you need a multi platform game, so God of War III, Gran Turismo 5, and Halo: Reach are out.
Final Fantasy XIII will not work, because there are more shooter fans than JRPG fans.
So we are talking about a multi platform game with wide universal appeal, likely something that appeals to shooter fans. The next Grand Theft Auto or the next Call of Duty may have a chance, since install bases will be bigger by then.

If you look at the combined sales of MW2 (PS360 and PC), none of those stand a chance. If you look at the individual platforms, I think both Halo Reach and GT5 have a small chance to outdo the openings of MW2 on their respective platforms.

I wouldn't put my money on it happening before MW3 or the next GTA comes around though.
