I didn't add those because they are Western made/published. I know, there's also games like CoD missing for the PS3 too, but I just wanted to keep this limited to Japanese companies only.

Eh, but you actually have quite a few western made/published titles already? (Silent Hill, Castlevania LoS, Dead Rising 2, Front Mission Evolved, Deus Ex 3, Alpha Protocol, Tournament of Legends).  You also have a PSN game listed (Ikki Online), with no WiiWare (the area where Wii really shames PS3 in number of releases).

Japanese devs have definitely dropped the ball. Japan is the only Wii had left since western companies have always refused to work on this platform, and now it is lost. I guess it is time for the Wii successor (Christmas 2011)

Honestly, I think this is due in large part to DS.  It has the biggest base, lowest costs, and is basically the platform the entire industry turned to this gen.  If DS didn't exist, I think a LOT more support would be going to Wii right now and would have been the past few years.

Same story to some degree with PSP and PS3 imo.  Really, in some ways I think Nintendo and Sony have been their own worst enemies.

Shame; Wii got the shaft.
I have the feeling though that some time soon such neglect will return to bite people in the ass.

No matter though; smaller teams will make way for next gen. It is only a matter of time. You wonder though why Japan bitches sometimes about gaming dying, yet they won't support the console that most people in their country want.

The only reason this 'core/un-comatose' audience they praise is on the PS3 or 360 is because they have thrown literally hundreds of those titles their way, and gave the Wii about 3 dozen. If the Wii got at least 25% more from the get-go they wouldn't be in such dire straits for a global audience.

Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. "  thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."

Yep, 3rd parties fucked up.  Wii could've been a stronger console market than even PS2 for them, but they threw it away...

The publisher is Japanese and most of the times they are the owners of the IP, most games are outsourced projects fro m a Japanese company. Silent Hill -> Konami, Deus Ex 3 -> Square Enix, Alpha Protocol and Tournament of Legends -> SEGA, Castlevania LoS -> Konami, FME -> SE, DR2 -> Capcom. I didn't list any Western owned IP or games that weren't published by a Japanese company.

Didn't know Ikki online was PSN, wouldn't have added it.

Bets with Conegamer:

Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.

Well, We Cheer 2 -> Bandai, Daseioh -> Starfish SD and NMH2 -> Marvelous.  Also, Spectrobes is actually developed a Japanese company (Genki) even if Disney's publishing.

I was talking again about non-released games, but you are right since we are in Japan, even if those are already released outside. The rest could be added, yep.

on the other hand if PS3 got all those JRPG's/Ace Combat 6 from the get go it would have been much stronger too. PS3 missed out on boosts from fanbase for the new Tales of a gen, new Star Ocean of a gen, new Ace Combat of a gen. Not to mention the Sakaguchi games.

But Companies put them on 360 as they thought they could penetrate the Western Market by being on 360 only (Ps3 was doing less than GBA monthly in NA then).....but now FF13 doubled 360 versions sales in NA showing which console had the affinity for JRPG sales. Its been a whole round of bad decisions but things have improved greatly now with Xenoblade & The Last Story announcements!
